Concedo what though? Chelsea haven't even matched our bid yet. The belly nerves must be starting to kick in again at Redcafe. ;)
They don't have to. He has said he's not going to Liverpool. Brighton have said he's not going back to Brighton. Chelsea could offer £100m, what are Brighton going to do? They can't force him to go to Liverpool.

Never underestimate Chelsea's ability to mess this up. I would not be shocked to see him playing for Brighton next weekend.
Isn't he skipping practices right now? He will probably refuse to play until he is sold or the transfer window closes, whichever comes first.

What do we think? Chelsea match Liverpools 111?
If what FF is saying is correct Chelsea won't be matching our offer, they will be low balling Brighton. Though they've not even put in the low ball offer yet which seems to suggest Chelsea are still scratching around.

If we don't pay up or it drags on too long he'll still go to Liverpool I'm guessing. The idea that he flat out doesn't want to go there is a bit naive, will just be a bit awkward with the whole world now knowing his preference.

As we saw with Kante (who United/Jose also tried hard to sign) in 2016, one swallow doesn't make a summer.

We're firmly at the period now where the young/peak players grew up watching the Drogba/Lampard/Cech era followed by the Hazard/Cesc/Azpi/Costa one, law of averages would suggest a not insigficant amount of top players would have been supporting the club during those times.
Caicedo isn't a Chelsea fan though.

Too much noise now to backtrack from him. We match it we will be ridiculed. We don't match it we will be ridiculed. So I prefer we get player and get ridiculed.

Can't believe Chelsea are looking at over 200 million quid for a couple of midfielders that haven't even broken into world class calibre. Mental.

Its just dawned on me.... £111m

That's about £25m than Real paid for Bellingham isn't it?

And weren't there rumours that Liverpool would go for Bellingham if he was dead set on going to Madrid?

Yeah, no way they're getting the lad from Southampton on the cheap after this.

This is really amateur from the club. Surely you check that the player is interested before you make a ridiculous bid like that?

Seems like Chelsea are getting Lavia and Caicedo now.

Why not? They basically have one midfielder as it is and all this would be doing is swapping Gallagher for Lavia
I suppose it is Chelsea after all. I just think Lavia and Caicedo are a similar profile of player, both would be used primarily as a no.6 and there’s only a couple years difference in age. So I imagine Lavia might suffer from lack of game time unless Poch decides to go with a very defensive midfield pairing or plays one of them as more of a no.8.

They will play three defensive mids. They are like we don’t care if we don’t score but no one is scoring on us.
Liverpool has just been taught a lesson - don’t mess with Boehly because he will take everything.

Apparently Ornstein confirmed Chelsea are after both on his American coverage cameo
