Luis Enrique | PSG Manager

More than 1000 passes but only 1 shot on target v Morocco, that has to be some kind of record.

He's got a decent club record so will probably walk in to a decent job quite soon.

Great manager, but losing to Morocco in a WC knockout stage is such a failure for a big nation like Spain.

I knew he would leave immediately.

If he's stuck for a few quid after he could sell footage of his Spain team playing to be used for torture.

I’ve never really liked him, people kept shouting him as the best manager in the tournament. At Barca he actually showed some flexibility with vertical football to the point they weren’t even considered ‘Barca’ enough by some diehards. But Spain against Morocco were like a parody of the worst of Spain’s sterile possession. Team and squad selections were very questionable.

I read somewhere that he was talking to Atlético. Sooner or later he will end up there or at Barça.

Harsh to judge him on this WC i think, Neville was right after all and they didn't have the goals in that team when it mattered.

If he'd have left them at the beginning of the year, he'd have probably been among the favourites to get the United job. The story goes he couldn't be considered because he wouldn't leave before the WC

At least he won't have to watch his own team anymore

That could cure insomnia

They’ll give it to that guy Moreno and Luis Enrique will come back for a third go just to spite him.

Glad we got Ten Hag instead tbh.

I suspect the Chelsea might open up soon and he should be in with a shout provided Barca job doesn't open up again. I still think he is a good club manager and will do well whereever he goes to.

His time can't be described as anything other than a failure.

The Chelsea job is always 'available soon', you're not wrong

Is there any chance of him managing Real once Ancelotti is finished? He played for Real and Barca, why not manage both?

England job once Southgate leaves on Saturday.

That would be some culture shock to finally end ties with Simeone and end up with Luis Enrique. Chalk and cheese in play styles!

I genuinely thought he was a shoe in for the City job, but again I expected Pep to leave by the end of this season, clearly thats not happening anymore.

I think Barca might still be a possibility if Xavi flatters to deceive come the end of the campaign.

Spain won a title with some bozo immediately after Luis Enrique's departure, incredible stuff.

I think that will be about the best possible appointment PSG can make.

That’s actually a good appointment for PSG.

Very good appointment... A part from the hasty Tuchel dismissal, they don't make that many mistakes choosing their managers.... The only exception I think was keeping Emery as they bought Neymar. He wasn't ready to deal with too many big egos...

The WC went wrong, but this team doesn't look better than the one he lead at the Euro 2021. He was 2 PK away from making the final of the Euros, where he would have been favorite to beat England... And he was close to beating France in the NL final 4 months later.
