Champions League 2022/23 - Matchday 3 - 4/5 October

I expect Chelsea to win this but they look so vulnerable and have barely looked like scoring since the opening 10 minutes.

They look worse than when they were being seized by the government. The siege mentality has disappeared.

I really don't think enough gets made of how far behind City they are.

Definitely does feel like they've gone backwards in some positions. Meunier just isn't good enough although he does produce an assist every now and then. They need a good partner for Bellingham and ideally another good winger.
Aside of that I'd say they'd usually be fielding Kobel in goal, Dahoud next to Bellingham, probably one of Malen or Adeyemi, and Haller as CF. So they are missing some key players.
I'm not sure about Dahoud. Yes, he isn't available but it looks like Özcan is first choice now anyways as he seems to work great as Bellingham's partner, he delivers that amount of strategic thinking and defensive power that allows Bellingham to march forward.

I also have to admit Zagreb have defended so well. Fofana and Kovacic arguably better performers so far. Re. City, apart from Pool, we are all miles away.

Chelsea have such an average team now. They've gone backwards after making poor signings. Take out Mount and they'd struggle to finish midtable in the Bundesliga.

They are a very good cup team but their league form has been patchy over the past few years.

For me it's annoying more pundits and media don't speak about this. It's not like Chelsea are a financially poor club, they've spent a lot yet have rarely looked like getting 90 plus points since Conte's 2017 title win.

I wouldn't go that far.

Yeah but they play the likes of Craggy Island and Dog and Duck FC until the semis in the FA Cup.

if you look at history our two clubs have always been good or ass at about the same time, give or take a few years. It gives me hope that it will repeat again, now that you guys are champions and turning it around, and we have finally got a good/modern manager.

My local club is Dinamo and we're doing pretty good so far. Defending good and dangerous on the counter. Oršić is just a wonderful plays, always shines on big stage. If we somehow win this we have a big chance in other games as well.

How many people actually care about Chelsea in England, aren't they like the 4th most supported club in London?

4th highest is still a lot considering how popular football is. I don't think they have many fans in the North but South of Birmingham you often meet Chelsea fans.

Always a lot of glamour about Milan, even when you were rubbish.

It is nice to see you're good again actually, gives me hope we might get there again eventually.

I know it was off but that was shocking from the Zagreb keeper, looked like he was running through treacle.

Dinamo have set up well. But Chelsea is playing really bad. Not even creating good chances.

My favourite club in Italy, even after gattuso and kaka thrashed us.

What’s this VAR graphic about? Just a different design or is trialing something new?

Semi-automated offline tech is debuting tonight. And fully automatic will debut at the WC if all goes well.

Auba is off. Completely useless. Wasn't he link to us this summer? Dodged the bullet.

Is Mason Mount the most overrated English player at the moment? I just don’t see what the lad does that gets him such high praise.

Someone should tell Kopenhagen that you can't weigh up yellow cards against goals.

Send him off ! :o

you guys had the luxury of never hitting bottom like we did, it was terrible... but it did make today even sweeter.
i have no doubt united will get there.
and if you do it like we did (which youll do it a tad differenty because of your warchest), it'll be by buying somewhat unsexy names that play 2+x better than the name brand.
