BBC had a stat that over the past decade, he had scored the 3rd most goals behind the big 2 in Ronaldo and Messi and tied with Zlatan. And obviously fantastic accomplishments with Uruguay winning a Copa America and a 3rd place at the WC.

Mata gets no criticism. He is an extremely likeable fella and everyone has gotten used to his limitations. AWB gets very little criticism either.

Mata's pretty much an afterthought for most fans, most acknowledge he's past his best but that's about it. Mata does not get more criticism than Pogba, it's absurd, we have threads dedicated to the positives of getting rid of Pogba. The only United player who gets anywhere near as much hate is Lingard.
