Valencia deserves this. He has been class for us. Hope he gets the reception he deserves. Never complained, and even fired his agent because he didnt feel he needed one as long as he was with us. Great servant.

For the rest they can feck themselves.

He never complains, because he can’t believe his luck that he’s been playing for Man Utd whilst being utter crap for 5 years. Can’t cross/ won’t cross. Turn Back Tony.

Having said that, he’s the captain... however, being the club captain and pissing off home for the majority of the season is unacceptable. He’s a disgrace.

We have two promising full backs in Dalot and Laird - any time Valencia gets on the pitch is stolen development time from these two. He’s already stayed far to long. He’s the worst captain of Man Utd in my lifetime, possibly in the history of the club.

When there’s less chance of losing at home to Cardiff and the kids taking heat from the fans for the first teams’ failures
In other words, never. Because in games that matter, the excuse will then be we can't experiment in a meaningful game. In a cup match, it's one of the only trophies we can win. And so on.

Sounds like we'll get to see all the clowns together one last time at least.

Here's hoping for Valencia - Smalling - Jones - Young back four. I'd happily boo that for 90 minutes.
You'd boo Valencia? I hope he does start and I hope he gets a great send off. He's been great for us.

Smalling always gives his all too and is never dreadful.

Go to town on Young and Jones though. Terrible terrible seasons yet again.

To be fair, the team has been crap for 5 years as well. Was only slightly better when Zlatan was here. Valencia is no Ronaldo, Messi, Rooney or even the class of 92. But he puts in a shift for us when called upon and that is what is severely lacking for these 2 months. However, it is also a good thing that he's been out with injuries as he is cleary way past his best too. At least he doesnt go down the road of Young, Smalling and Jones.

It’s going to be an emotional day with Valencia and Herrera playing their final game.

Was looking for the white text?

Whatever you think of the merits of these players, and I would have preferred to see Herrera stay, it’s certaintly not emotional. Both will be forgotten very quickly.

When you get the likes of Danny Webber and Andy Ritchie treat like legends on MUTV, then these two should not be forgotten quickly.

Valencia and Herrera have been two of the very few players to actually give 100% every time they've played for us and clearly gave their all! They deserve a great send off! Don't let the rest of our crap squad sour it for them

Secretly hoping for this lineup though.

    De Gea

    Darmian
    Smalling
    Lindelof
    Shaw

    McTominay
    Herrera (Puigmal)
    Gomes (Levitt)

    Valencia (Chong)
    Greenwood
    Martial

This is a thing? I thought it only excisted on the caf.
Started on Twitter I think, as these type of things normally do. I won’t be leaving early personally, have never done so in 27 years but if people want to crack on.

I wanted Herrera to stay and disappointed he's leaving but I am not sure I would get sentimental about it and play him or even have him in the squad, just to give him a send off. Arguably we could do that for half the sqaud tomorrow...

He's had a little send off video, which is more then most players get for 5 years at the club. Much rather his space in the sqaud goes to a young player.

That said, Tony V deserves a farewell, he's one of the remaining players from SAF's era, been here for 10 years, and potentially could be retiring.

This is always the hardest lineups to judge as it's the last game with nothing to play for.

    Romero
    Dalot Bailly Jones Darmian
    Fred
    Herrera Pereira
    Gomes
    Chong Rashford

With Greenwood getting game time too.

Remember when we played Palace last game of the season a few years back with all the kids? under LVG i think? And we beat them in some style. They all stepped up and looked like our 1st team. I want to see that tomorrow

    Edit: it was under Jose.

Thanks bud. What is the reason behind the 83rd minute?

Really hope we get a decent amount of young starters. Definitely Greenwood and Dalot, possibly Chong/Gomes/Garner. Maybe one of those 3 to start, the other 2 to sub on. Also in terms of those who can have their "send off", I'd give Valencia, Herrera and Mata that honor. So start some of those or sub them.
    Team I'd pick would be:
    De Gea
    Dalot Smalling Lindelof Shaw
    Herrera McTominay Pogba
    Mata
    Chong Greenwood
Subs: Garner for Herrera, Angel Gomes for Mata, Valencia for Dalot.

Both have been excellent servants to the club and deserve good send offs. Valencia has been here 10 years ffs. He's past it now, but has been very good for us.

Why not leave after 7 mins rather than 83rd as that makes no difference.

Not a joke but would anyone like to see the UFC guy (Bruce Buffer) at Old Trafford and introduce the teams and then do the "It's Timeeeee", for some entertainment. Perhaps in a game like tomorrow or even a big game.

Tomorrow will be rubbish won't it, nothing to play for (5th or 6th place, who cares) probably play Valencia and Herrera for 'reward', Pogba and maybe even DDG will have their minds elsewhere, Shaw, Martial, Matic, Mata, Lukaku will trudge around in 1st gear, Young, Smalling and Jones will run round like headless chickens, I suspect Rashford, Lingard and Sanchez will have 'niggles' and sit this one out, the youngsters who get a run will be greeted like the second coming only for the game to end 0-0 and then be expected to do a lap of honour in front of empty seats.
Or of course I could be wrong and Olé plays his strongest team and gets 100% out of everyone of them and we smash Cardiff out of sight to show our intent for next season ?
Either way I'll have one eye on the other games and will be crossing my fingers that City don't f..k it up at Brighton.
That really would make it a miserable season.

And what would be the point of that? Don't we waste enough money on shite already?

Nobody cares about this game. Ole is right to give 1 or 2 kids a chance and give good servants such as Valencia and Herrera a decent sending off. That's worth more than 3 points we have absolutely no use for anyway. Like you said there are some other games that are way more important.

As awkward as it is to say it, it might be a rare time to watch another game, ie City's game.
I think I've only watched City over us once before....that Agueroooo goal incident, my word that was a heart attack watch!

Thinking about it, maybe it's less stress watching our game, and hoping it all goes "right" elsewhere.
