Has it ever happened before where 4 teams from any one Country have been in the two European finals?

What a time to be a City fan (domestic treble) Spurs and Liverpool fan (CL final) and Chelsea or Arsenal fan (Europa final)

United are 6th

Really hope you are not serious

Why? If liverpool/tottenham win it it leaves one more additional spot to CL doesn't it? And if arsenal/chelsea win EL they qualify to the CL, which also leaves another spot?

Proud to be British

Brexit is having wonders already and we are reaping the rewards.

All the other big teams doing well from England. It is pretty much only us that have been a total disaster overall this season.

What a total nightmare this season is. Only bright side is no quadruple for City and hopefully no double for Pool. Also that we at least didn't feck up our season in the last game against Cardiff.

At least for the qualifying round, yes, I think? And how would UEFA justify giving it to any other league?

As per UEFA rules, max 5 teams from the same league can play in CL.

No.

If Arsenal win EL they get a 5th CL spot. Chelsea are already in CL regardless so if they win I think it just gives an extra EL spot to the league.

Quoted:

In normal circumstances, three UEL places are given to English clubs who fulfil the following criteria:

  • The fifth-placed team in the Premier League qualify for the group stage proper.
  • The winners of the FA Cup qualify for the group stage proper.
  • The EFL Cup winners qualify for the second qualifying round.
Where these qualifications changes
a) If the FA Cup winners finish in the top five of the Premier League, their UEL group stage place will go to the next-highest ranked team not qualified for UEFA competitions in the Premier League.

b) If the EFL Cup winners finish in the top five of the Premier League (or top six if (a) happens), their UEL second qualifying round place will go to the next-highest ranked team not qualified for UEFA competitions in the Premier League.

How does winning UCL/UEL affect qualification?
Should a Premier League club win the UEFA Champions League they will automatically qualify for the group stage of next season's competition regardless of their league finishing position.

Should a Premier League club win the UEFA Europa League they will automatically qualify for the group stage of next season's UEFA Champions League regardless of their league finishing position.

A maximum of five Premier League teams are eligible for UEFA Champions League qualification.

In the event that a Premier League club win the UEFA Champions League and another win the UEFA Europa League and neither of these clubs finish in the top four of the Premier League, the club lying fourth in the table will drop into the UEFA Europa League group stage.

Feck this

How will this affect our UEFA coefficient? Doubt it's enough to leapfrog Spain but we must be getting closer.

The 5th spot only opens up if one of the teams winning the UCL or Europa don't qualify via the league.

So if arsenal win the Europa and fail to make top 4, they'll get the 5th spot.

If this is to happen will we play in the champions league?
FFS how many times do the qualification rules need to be explained. At this point they should just be pinned at the top of the front page of the caf.

Are you on your period? When was the last time there was a similar case for CL and EL where all teams are/could be english?

Come on Watford. Don't make our players fooling around in States, make them work in July on proper games rather.

I can't understand how so many us see United as a force anymore. We are where we deserve to be. Thank Glazers, Woodward and shitty players for that.

Stop being an entitled bunch.

Kane will be back for the final? I think they'll loose it anyway (pray I'm wrong). Spurs will be the more difficult team to play for Liverpool though.

We're the only team in the top 6 with nothing to play for... Pathetic

Don't worry, we'll take clown back from City and Liverpool in the next few years when Ole completed the rebuilding of our squad, we'll dominate the league out of hell and turn it into Bundesliga/ the 90s PL, Ole will create his own SAF style dynasty and be with us for 25+ years.

Just let City, Liverpool and other English team have fun for a while but it won't be forever.

Yeah, I know.

And yet another indictment on the Glazers, Woodward, the club, the players, the managers, etc.

When the likes of Spurs in a CL final... worst season ever!

Quite likely that all four finalists in Europe will be English sides. When you consider City are not one of them it shows the huge amount of ground we have to make up.

As ever, Spurs are under-rated on this forum. We dumped City out of the CL - and they are probably the best team in Europe. We came back against Ajax when most posters on here had written us off.

We deserve to be in the final.
