That's about as underwhelming as a Herrera replacement can get. Not much of an improvement just more money spent on transfer fees instead of wages.
Wow you're right. I would have been pretty okay with the signing if he was like 20-25 but yeah, hope we stay away. He's 29 yrs old.Thought he was much younger.
Why? He's good at winning the ball, has energy and pace (IIRC). If he's available for <30m that'd be a decent buy. If we get him and Bruno in I'd be happy. That's about as underwhelming as a Herrera replacement can get. Not much of an improvement just more money spent on transfer fees instead of wages.
Because he's not an improvement. Unless some of these players suddenly improve significantly until the start of next season that midfield is just not good enough for a team with anything more than top 4 aspirations. Why? Matic/Gueye, McTominay/Fred, Pogba/Bruno
Sure we'd need to get another DM in a year or two but it would also give our youngsters a chance to develop (Garner).
Most of us knew this already that £400M would be needed and this is why United are not dismissing any of the media coverage for the sales of Either De Gea or more likely Pogba.Don't think there's any truth whatsoever in that article (300k PW). The recent performances show how much of a change is needed however im beginning to think that even 250 million is not enough.
We are going to need atleast just under 400 to make adequate changes around the field.
Come on Ole sign premier league proven Kante, Salah and Leroy Sane whilst at it.Tweet

They're doing that about as consistently as possible, if anything. Most of us knew this already that £400M would be needed and this is why United are not dismissing any of the media coverage for the sales of Either De Gea or more likely Pogba.

What's your problem huh? You don't like Gueyes?Feck off.
That is a horribly underwhelming group. Pogba is good, maybe Bruno is too, but the rest looks awfully mediocre or worse. Why? He's good at winning the ball, has energy and pace (IIRC). If he's available for <30m that'd be a decent buy. If we get him and Bruno in I'd be happy.

If we replace Herrera with Gueye (letting Herrera go for free and paying £30m for the latter), I will lose all hope in the club. It's not even a slight upgrade. Why? Dia think so?Odd move?
I wouldn't be so sure. McTominay has been very good of late and Fred has shown signs of improvement too. Obviously, Gueye isn't my/our ideal signing but I don't think it would be a bad piece of business if the price is really below 30m as quoted. We need so many replacements/upgrades that we can't afford to spend big on every single one of them. Getting in Alderweireld and Gueye for 60m combined would mean we have more money for other, more pressing positions (fullback, right wing). That is a horribly underwhelming group. Pogba is good, maybe Bruno is too, but the rest looks awfully mediocre or worse.
Why are we stockpiling goalkeepers?Tweet

Should watch him more than, because he really stands out. Completely bossed Arsenal and usually performs very well against top teams.Gueye ??? Go awayhe doesn’t even stand out in that Everton team.
Exactly the kind of club I was expecting Rojo to join for some reason.Tweet

Astute observation.Gueye is 29.
That is all.
I know, thanks.Astute observation.
I was really impressed with him in Everton's recent game against Arsenal, but before then I didn't even know he existed. Not much of a scouting report, I know.Gueye is brilliant at what he does, although admittedly, I haven’t watched him much this season.
