Mass shooting at gaming tournament in Florida

Audio of shooting
(WARNING: Not for the sensitive)

Some people saying they can see a a laser sight on the black guy (Trueboy I think is his name) just before the shooting starts. I don't know what it is, but there's definitely some red light flashing around.

It's a red dot that appears right on him as the video cuts out.

Horrible video, audio really is horrific. Sigh. :(

Looks like screen glare.

If you look closely looks like red laser on his chest :(

Shit, you are right, I was looking at the face. Its true we all think its like video games where you try to get headshots all the time but irl people often aim for the chest and center of mass.

Well for his sake I hope it his. 4 confirmed dead according to CNN. RIP.

Apparently there was a gang-related shooting at a high school football game in the area on Friday night where 1 died and 2 were injured. Some are connecting the two, but I don't know, this seems a bit random for that. I think people have traveled from all over the place to be at this tournament rather than it being locals playing.

Edit: It's also the kind of place someone wanting to do a mass shooting and gain notoriety might well target if they knew it was being streamed.

Thoughts and prayers bullshit. Do something about it.

The guy on the right has tweeted to say he's okay and a bullet hit his thumb, the one being targeted with the laser hasn't tweeted for a few days but if the laser was targeting him and one of the bullets managed to hit the guy next to him also then it doesn't look good.

My gf was just watching a stream and the streamer mentioned this, so we went to twitter to check out what was happening. Absolutely shocking. There's little to no security around these events either.

It's also so saddening the amount of Americans straight away going on about people blaming guns and not blaming mental health and all that. It's not just one or two either, it's a rather large proportion saying that guns aren't the problem. That's why it's never going to change over there, there's not just a lack of desire, it's actually people defending guns.

What's more if you ask them if they would like a public mental health service provided through the use of tax payer money, they would probably say no.

The problem is, you're never going to cure mental health issues, at least not until we genetically design every baby. Who is to say the shooter even has a mental health issue as we'd define it. Maybe he's just an asshole, who had little value for human life, including his own. Guns on the other hand, however you want to argue about guns, they make it EASIER to kill people than just about any other small, man portable device.

All true. It's all just incredibly scary how many people are putting that up there right now. As if people are trying to take away their precious rights by blaming only guns, yet don't seem to understand that guns are the only facts in this situation right now.

I do feel sorry for the sane people out there, but they aren't fighting to just make people proactive, they are fighting to change their very beliefs. That just isn't going to happen.

Read a few twitter accounts that say he died immediately at the scene RIP to him if true. It’s shocking playing a video game and just like that you’ve gone

Wonder where this fits in with the violent video game rhetoric.

Having been to 3 major esports events in the last 12/18 months, I've got to say, security at times hasn't been as strict as it should.

Shoot up a place cause you lost a game.
I have spent years playing MMOs.

Many many people in those scared me. I am sure most of them are just acting tough shit. But, you feel some of them have serious mental issues.

Lost a video game so shoots up the place, seriously?!

Witness being interviewed on MSNBC could not help to mention that he was a Trump supporter and that he was very happy with the job he was doing ,deporting immigrants and keeping them safe from these people. If it is true that this happened because he lost a video game ,this will play into the hands of those who want to blame video games for violence.

Madden is a violent game to be fair. How long before players kneeling will also be blamed?
