Andy Gray speaking sense. George Boateng sounds like an idiot and says it like if there's a gap now, then there's no chance of that changing in the next 5 years. Because things don't change from season to season in football

So refreshing to hear a pundit defend Mourinho. Been hearing crap for last few months from most pundits that begs me to pull my hair out.

That's not the question. I hate hindsight, but with my red tinted glasses on its obvious that we are very close to Shitty. If we did not have those horrible 3 draw over Xmas, had put up a fight against Pool and got a result against Shitty it would be squeak bum time at the council house right now.

The glory of being the main man that brings us our first title since SAF retiring is something money can't buy.

I agree, just joking. The narrative being around media is laughable. City didn't want to pay for him until the last day of the last transfer window because they wanted him on the cheap. They still want him on the cheap.
Anyone who thinks that we're working on this transfer for a past few days or a week is delusional. If we get him, it will be because we wanted him more and don't mind paying over the odds to get him. That's the thing when you really want a player. You will pay over the odds to get him.
But, of course, media will forget to mention this.

The thing, being the biggest club in the country also helps.

I’ll be glad to see that coward Mkhitaryan go the other way. He will improve but when the going gets tough he’ll turn into weasel again.

He's a good player in a team that is doing well but when everything is going wrong he's a complete bottle job.

Well Sanchez seems to be filling the elusive 4th spot in Jose's transfer strategy from the summer.

Clearly this means Bale isn't coming, or Griezmann for that matter.

The question is: would United have gone for him if PSG or Madrid wanted him? Is this another we'll buy him because he's available and our rivals appear to want him, rather than we desperately want him (like Lukaku in my honest opinion).

Wengers future could easily be decided as well - if this was my club, I would be so seriously worried:

Petr Cech - turns 36 in 4 months
Laurent Koscielny - 32 - looks to be in decline
Nacho Monreal - turns 32 next month
Per Mertesacker - 33 - looks too slow
Hector Bellerin - 23 - the only real talent in defense, how long will he stay ?
Alexis Sanchez - 29 - out of contract and on his way out of the club
Mesut Özil - 29 - probably the same as Sanchez
Oliver Giroud - 31 - will leave in the summer
Theo Walcott - soon 29 - on his way out of the club
Santi Cazorla - 33 - career over ?
Danny Welbeck - 27 - yet to reach 50 League goals. Scored 13 in 3.5 seasons for Arsenal. Not good enough
Mohamed Elneny - 25 - hardly ever plays - not good enough
Calum Chambers - 23 - hardly played after his first season at the club. Not good enough

Realistically - 10-12 players could easily leave Arsenal in the next 1.5 years. Either because they want to leave, or because they aren't good enough

Mkhitaryan is class when in form. But it's a bit of a gamble for Arsenal to invest in him. A change of scenery could be what he needs though, so if Wenger believes he can make him perform then I'd be all for it if I was an Arsenal fan.

I watched him often enough for Dortmund since he joined there. He was frustrating often enough, he had one fantastic season under Tuchel in all years. He surely has good moment, but no thanks for me. Not for this wage, already 28 too. We should rebuild the team with some young talents.

After watching Aguero tonight I'd be surprised if they didn't go big for him.

The whole hot take narrative of United being the money option & City being the football one after six months of sexy football is amusingly bonkers click bait nonsense. Half a season trumps 70 odd years of context apparently. Which isn’t to say we should be relying on our history to keep us relevant or anything, because even ignoring our huge historical standing, we’re still currently, tangibly, as things stand, the holders of 2 actual trophies to their none, all during an apparent time of semi perpetual “crisis”... And we’re second.

In addition to buying Barcelona’s technical chiefs and manager, they’ve apparently also bought their whole pious Mes Un Club identity too. If only there was a silly fan dance they could appropriate as well.
Spot on Mockney

When you put it like that. Their team is a mess!

They’ve briefed heavily they aren’t going above £20m. Why can’t any of you people actually just accept that unless the moment comes when they change their minds? Second guessing everything is no fun and just leaves you paranoid.

To those saying "unzipping now"; "cocks out"; "getting ready with the lube"...

Is it a normal to welcome a new player by having a wank to them?

Found a better DT video.

6th felt pretty good when there were 2 trophies and Champions League football with it. Put us firmly in a position to take anyone we want from their bare bones squad.

Mertesacker has been 33 for about 10 years now tbf.

If you want him you try and set the odds. People talks like it's just the two bidders involved - us and City - but there's Arsenal and Sanchez as well. Arsenal have to weigh up what the remaining months of his contract are worth before selling him. He has to weigh up what he wants, he'll get money either way. With us, he gets someone who really wants him not someone who left him waiting back last August.
