It can be confirmed by every reliable source there is, I still don't believe for a second he's leaving Madrid.
Can't bring myself to believe it either but if he is - we should do everything in our power to get him. He will guarantee us at least 4-5 major trophies.

If we can sign him then I think we should. He is a legend for us and he is still a phenomenal footballer and athlete. He could still score a bucket load of goals.

How would people feel if we weren't in for him at all?

Personally speaking I think I'd just drink myself into a stupor until he retired.

I've always tried to hide it since he left Real, but I genuinely love the man.
The only way I could see us not being in for him, is if his relationship with Jose is that bad.

He would single handedly win us the league, and at the very least get us out of the group stages in the CL.

He's won everything, smashed records and still gets booed, always being compared with Messi, he has 1 more contract or move left to a big club. If he goes now, his agent and him will make a mint, 1 last bumper contract whilst still playing competitively. Maybe they let the tax thing simmer and using it as an excuse to go. Alternatively Messi gets a pay bump almost every year and Ronnie can't accept being paid lower.

Thing is, as one of the other tweets says, it might be a means to show his faux outrage at being accused of tax fraud.

What does that achieve though?

Didnt he just sign a new contract like a few months ago?
November. 5 years. I'm struggling to see how this a negotiation tactic.

My guess would be is that he is incredibly pissed off and he wants it to be known.

This is getting on my nerves, give him his pay rise...

We don´t need him, he is to expensive, we need to adress other positions. He is no Utd. legend, he is a Madrid one, enough of this please. Would not be angry, if he comes back for a good price, but not for 80 Mio.
It doesn't seem it's just for a pay rise, more the fact the club haven't protected him, seemingly causing embarrassment.

£80mil? you are having a laugh, double it.

Fergie would probably regain his enthusiasm for management if Ronnie comes here. Get Phelan in some shorts and Rene back and cousin, we are in business.

Why does it being on the BBC make it reliable?

Ronaldo's people tell all the usual hacks he wants out, everyone sees through it as bollocks.

Ronaldo's same people tell the BBC and now it must be true?

BBC is on.

This can be considered serious then ?
I don't think anybody is denying that the report is real, or supposedly serious. But a similar thing happened with Ramos a few summers ago, and Ronaldo himself has been doing this almost every summer I can remember. In a few days, he'll be confirmed as taking a U turn and staying. He's not going anywhere.

No , one reporter reported or either he wants the press to know how angry he is.

Anyways I think morata deal will turn into a saga now.

It has to be. Or it is tactics for Real to front his tax case, even paying what he owes. Who knows?

Hope we are not taken for a ride. This summer window is extremely important for us, and it would be damaging chasing Ronaldo all summer with him ultimately staying.

He's just throwing his toys out the pram. Everyone needs to calm down. Defo not going anywhere near this thread. It will only end badly.

Judging by his CL performance in the knock out stages last season - I'd say we would become one of the favourites for the competition.

Just to add, Ronaldo being Ronaldo - it would be a massive attraction for him to come here and get Rooneys record.

Imagine being a top goalscorer at Real Madrid AND Man United. It's literally unprecedented and likely to never be surpassed.

It's obviously been leaked to the press, seems to be a negotiation tactic by Ronaldo's people.

Who knows what they're end objective is, but it'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

Boy I do love seeing trouble at Madrid

So Ronnie wants a pay rise and a bit of ego stroking? Must be June.

I don't think he and Mourinho will be working together again and we won't be sacking our manager. If he does go, he'll be going to PSG.

And now the government are after him for €10 million or thereabouts.

He's had to use his contract negotiations card earlier than anticipated.

Ronaldo makes €72 million a year. 15 million is not a lot for him in a grand scheme of things. It's not about the new contract.

I do hope that he turns the screw on Real as much as possible. He blatantly sees himself as bigger then any club in the world.

Make it 95m. He is the highest paid sportsperson in the world according to a report this month.

From a comment on reddit:

'I think it's time to leave Spain. This has nothing to do with my tax evasion case. By the way I'm totally innocent.'
