So, assuming we're getting Mourinho and that we're about to let this fecker get his dirty mitts into our club.
Who is on his books? Who are his clients? Who are we likely to sign, through this sham marriage?

He's had his dirty mitts in your club for a while now. Bebe...

We'll probably go for Bernardo Silva and Andre Gomes off his client list, maybe James if we were looking for a galactico.

He doesn't just make deals for players on his books. He is an excellent agent for facilitating other transfers too.

...and has also been known to poach a player to his agency before or after a big move. He'll be a big help. It's not just going to be a case of Mourinho being his bitch and signing James for £70m because he says so

DDG
Thiago Silva - Otamendi - Garay
Bernardo Silva - Moutinho - Carvalho - Di Maria
James - Costa - Ronaldo

Isn't Andre Gomes supposed to be bigger?
He's more established(but also older). Quality player and although Neville's stint didn't work out I think he was pretty good in most of the games.

Neves I've watched in the CL and thought he was quality even captained Porto already. Dunno what his form is like in Portugal maybe @Sly or other resident Portugal members can bring more light onto this, but given the Renato Sanches transfer he won't come cheap as well. What has impressed me is his positioning, reading of the game and the ability to distribute the ball at such young age. The issue I see with him is probably the need to "bulk up" if he plays in the much more physical Premiership, but against Chelsea he did pretty well for example.

He's still only 22! Isn't he a more creative midfielder too (what we need)? Wouldn't mind him here at all.

As for Rubén Neves I've seen even less of him. I've heard about him though, definitely, which can only be good!

By older I mean older than Neves - 3 years is a lot in terms of development.

Both can play together in a 4-2-3-1 as well IMO so it doesn't mean we can't fit both :)

To us Brits it is, Kantnah's kollah

Only because it is an attempt to pronounce it as a Spanish name, when he is actually Portuguese. Ironically, the Portuguese pronunciation is more phonetic, having the J and G pronounced, meaning it is actually closer to how Jorge would be pronounced if it were an English name.

Forgive the pedantry. ;)

Regardless, I don't see the huge issue over him. Although a lot of people say agents are ruining the game (and Mendes is an agent amongst agents), modern football & our desire to be competitive (compounded with our current predicament which makes us easy to fleece) means we will be paying big wages, as well as fees for transfers & agents alike. If we are to win some trophies in the next few years, it will probably be expensive. He represents some of the best prospects in the world and will continue to do so, I imagine, for quite some time - having Mourinho (& him) on board will mean an opportunity to sign some very good players.

Who ever is in his books,i believe he will balance it out on this way or another. I mean for example: JM could ask him to convince DDG to stay while he is there,in return Mendes could ask that JM gives 250k per week to Falcao.

We spent £8 million on Bebe just to keep Mendes sweet.

Didn't have a good year. Spent large spells on bench and was even surpassed by Sérgio Oliveira in the last part of the campaign. Danilo was the real star of Porto's midfield this year. Even so, he clearly is a good player. Perhaps he needs a decent manager to take advantage of all his potencial.

Does he have any good defenders on his books? I know he has Laporte, but he's injured currently. But definitely think we should go for him if City do.

Don't think we should pay the silly fee for Stones.

Someone above says Laporte is with a different agency.

Laporte is represented by Puyol now. Hence the frequent links to City and Barcelona.

Ruben Neves is a player I think we should really be looking at and is one of the reasons I like the thought of us having good relations with Mendes.

Well aren't you just a ray of sunshine.

Please, derail the thread more.

On topic: It's true that Laporte isn't with him anymore, but I think we should aim for another centre-back regardless - or at the very least, wait to see how Laporte recovers from his injury. Andre Gomes, however, I feel would be a good signing. Whether that happens or not is a different question, but I wouldn't be opposed if it were for a reasonable price. We could use a player like that in midfield. He's been very good for Valencia this season.

Bernardo Silva and Ivan Cavaleiro are immense for me on FM. Are they any good in real life?

Is Mendez that bad?

He's an agent, his interest is his client, not United/Madrid/Etc. He gets the best player, he sold his player for profit, what's wrong with that? Big agent fee? Well kudos for him that he can get the best out of what he does best. If we made Madrid pays 100M for DDG it doesn't mean we're evil, it means we're having a good business.

He didn't badmouth anyone directly, and spreading rumors and hearsay are agent's bread and butter, everyone else is doing it.

What's so bad about Mendez?

We've had one with him for many many many many years though, we've been doing business with the bloke for probably as long as he's been in the business.
