Didn't want to make a new thread but couldn't find anything searching on here.

Does anybody know pubs in central Manchester that show 3pm kick offs? I'm sure I've seen some posted before.

Know loads in the Didsbury area that show it but I'm in central Manchester on Saturday.

Cheers

Not sure what the place is called but there is a pub next to the Catherdal. I think they have Sky Italia box thus show 3 pm kick off. It's just off the Corporation St.

Edit:
The place is called The Crown and Anchor

Cannon Court / Cateaton Street, Manchester, England, United Kingdom
Address is approximate

Thanks a lot for that. Also came across a few recommending Tibb Street Tavern in Northern Quarter too.

Go to the Courtyard on Cambridge Street just off Oxford Road. It's more student orientated but cheaper and has loads of screens and always has a decent atmosphere.

Another bonus is Zouk, the curry place next door, which is far and away the best curry I have ever had!

Yeah that was going to be my backup, like it in the Courtyard but will just be rushing about if I had to make it there. Cheers though.

Wonder how many times I've stood in the Courtyard next to some of you and never knew how close we came to meeting.

Shouldn't be a problem? I remember, if my mind is straight, that a couple of them (Cromptons, Rouge etc) at Portland St showed 3pm kickoffs. Not the best of pubs but still..

Bump

Does anyone know of any pubs round town that might still show a 3pm kick off?

Out on Saturday and would love to watch the game.

Cheers

I'm not sure if there's any left still showing 3pm kick offs in town these days.

There seemed to be a crack down on it a few years ago, and the places listed above which were using dodgey boxes or online streaming services quickly stopped. Also, I think the broadcasting rights on foreign channels do not allow pubs the licence to show these games in UK.

Shame, but would be interested to hear if anybody knows of a place that still shows these games.

Agreed. Some of the places listed above don't even have legitimate TV games on any longer, such as the Crown and Anchor.

I'm hearing The Courtyard and The Seven Oaks. Might be easier just to take a few tins into Curry's and throw the game off my phone onto the best OLED I can find.

I think the 3 pm match this saturday is on NBCNS if you have mobdro. I think. I am not 100% certain. I will have to check it on saturday to confirm.

Probably because when I tried some of my old haunts they'd all stopped doing them. I'm guessing there are places but I'm out of the loop!

Why stop showing them though? They are a pub in the City of a massive football club.. sounds daft not to take advantage :wenger:

Maybe less people watch the games in a pub though, consider O.T is 10 minutes away I guess.

The Abercrombie on Bootle Street is a cracking "proper" pub with excellent beer. The last time I watched a match there was the Newcastle away debacle just over 12 months ago; I presume they're still showing them but can't be certain.

Evil property developer Gary Neville tried to knock it down, but happily was thwarted.

EDIT: Just realised the thread is asking about 3 pms

The Courtyard doesn’t play 3pms anymore.

I was in there last month. They just play SkySportsNews.

Isn't it illegal for pubs in the UK to show 3 O'clock kick offs?

Just buy a mobile satellite dish and a Viark Droi and watch them at home.

Ahh sheeeit. There goes Plan A. Streaming it on my phone becomes more and more tempting.

It genuinely pisses me off that you can watch more premier league games abroad than you can in the UK! With the amount of money in the game and what we pay for Sky I should be able to watch every game united play on tv should I wish.

I think it's a brilliant rule tbf. If you wanna watch it, get yourself down to the game or nowadays it is easy to stream it. But it allows lower league clubs to keep going so I'm all for how it is.

I hear this line trotted out frequently, but I reckon if you put a poll up on the Caf and asked how many fans would be going to watch a lower league side rather than tryng to watch United illicitly, or alternatively how many fans of lower league clubs will stay at home and watch United on Sky rather than follow their own team, the answers would refute the argument. Or am I missing something? Genuine question.

There are a lot of fans who would stay at the pub and watch the game if it was on rather than go to a lower league game. 100%.

Probably best not to mention pubs which show it on a public forum anyway. It has become a lot harder to find pubs this year in Manchester with 3pm kick offs.

I know a few places where used to show them but a lot have stopped now.
