This is not another Ibrahimovic thread. This is a thread where us fans can show appreciation and let him know we're thinking about him and are thankful for what he brought to the club.
Ibra is perhaps the most genuine person in football. He's honest and straight forward and all that has earned the respect from huge clubs and names. Just seeing some of the tweets the past days have showed what kind of beautiful legacy he's left behind. Clubs like Milan, Inter, Juve as well as top players he played with are now overwhelming him with comfort. And all this love is shown to a guy who has a reputation of sleeping around with every club. I'd like to see what kind of man gets that kind of treatment from his ex-wives in a weak moment in life.
What makes him stand out is the fact he always loved the game. He's never wanted anything more than winning, becoming a star and play for the biggest clubs. He's brought success and charisma to every club he's ever played for. Even a guy like Messi felt threatened by his arrival.
The true side of him is totally genuine. In his early career he never exploited his own name to gain easy money - compare that to every other footballer who sits with Pepsi and kicks a ball every year on the commercials. It was only in his late career where he started making use of his name. Most of the adds were made for charity reasons anyway.
This guy is just full of simple humor, typical of a boy going to football camp. His private side is humble and I wish we all could get to see more of that side in a way. I'm so glad he finally found Manchester United because he was actually made to play for this club. Every single piece of his being is a perfect DNA match with the club. I think that's why he made such a huge impression on other clubs because they don't know what these characters are all about.
The fact that he wanted to come and play for Manchester United says a lot about the size of the club. He could easily have said goodbye to the highest stage and moved to China or USA and earned more money than any footballer on this planet. But he wanted the challenge - and boy did he show people. 28 goals in this league at that age. Absolutely insane.
I really hope he wants to stay on for another year. Perhaps there is something that can be done about the wages. Ibra brings so much to the team just by being part of it. There just have to be something more to his career than that. Some kind of coaching role. Something. A club like Manchester United would never leave a player in the cold after leaving such a mark. Mourinho and Ibra are as close to each other as father and son.
And for all of you who didn't feel like reading all that nicely written text, please - just show your support by leaving a little devil
