verily.. in fact, better than zidane's. zizou's looked a little deflected. the goalie shoulda done better if it wasn't.

Not very good control actually. He got a lucky bounce and some sloppy defending. Showed great determination and poise tho.

<a href="http://www.allgoal.org/spain/02-19-4.avi" target="_blank">Raul</a>

Prior to the shot, the ball was never completely under control.

you're joking! he took a powerful pass on the chest, killed it dead, hooked the ball away from the first defender with one touch, volleyed over the second defender with another, and the slow-mo replay clearly shows him nipping the ball past the last two desperate challenges with the third! zidane beat one player and the keeper, raul took the piss out of three of 'em! no wonder they looked sloppy!

I am not joking. I am not disputing the beauty of the goal, nor the fact that Raul made a goal out of nothing. I am merely noting that his ball control was not perfect, and that the defence was far from perfect.

I think his assist on this one(lobbing the ball over the defenders) was quite exquisite actually.

<a href="http://www.allgoal.org/spain/02-19-1.avi" target="_blank">Raul's assist to Morientes</a>

well obviously the defending wasn't PERFECT suede because they'd have kept that shit out! but i still think raul's control, although not as pleasing to the eye (to some perhaps) as zidane's, was still a cut above. you're right, a goal out of nothing: his back was to goal and three defenders (from depor no less) had a crack at it. zizou was already at the top of the box and approaching the goal at speed. i'm not a huge raul fan either (love zidane though) so please don't think it bias.

When a goal is scored it stands to reason that the defence hasn't been perfect.

Not always. Sometimes the defence can play it right and still concede.

Take it from Roma fans then (such as ryangiggsis#1) who admitted that he was offside. ;)

Baffling. Well you have to be right don't you Daisy? And if ever someone disputes your opinion you will argue the toss forever......FIN

I liked Raul's goal better. It was more entertaining. <img src="graemlins/angel.gif" border="0" alt="[Angel]" />

What's point of arguing if you don't think you're right eh Kraut?

I guess that debate and discussion for you is just a vehicle to converting people to believe in your opinions. That type of behaviour reminds me of TV envangelists Daisy.

PS As you well know I'm English, so calling me Kraut is fairly pointless really - or perhaps you'd like to convince everyone that I am a German?

Jesus Christ,
I'd like to argue. Practising for Law School. What's your fecking problem? If you find inconsistencies in my posts come back at me, okay?

Did anyone see the goal in Seria A that was disallowed when the ref was waiting to restart the match, then saw the keeper receiving treatment and took the ball back and gave a goal kick instead?

Madness, surly he can't give the goal and be ready to restart the game to then award a goal kick.

Has anyone got a video clip of this as well?
