It's a point I raised some time ago when I said that we'd only produced Phil Neville and Wes Brown in the ten years since the class of 92. However since then JOS has arrived and Kieran Richardson looks like doing the same before too long. We also have Timm and Nardiello plus Fletcher if he can stay injury free. Maybe Webber, Davis and Roche might make the grade although in youth terms they're getting on a bit. So perhaps things are looking up.

The class of 92 were quite phenomenal and even freakish although United had done it before with Edwards, Colman, Charlton, McGuiness, Pegg etc when they won the FA Youth Cup for the first five years of its exsistence in the 50's.

Nah, I think he's a clever touch-typer, but he's missing a few fingers ;)

let's not forget that we had Eric playing alongside the young guns in those days and they learnt from him. Eric's skill is just out of this world.

Youth teams dont just play extraordinarily with talent and by excellent coaching. Who play alongside them is one important factor for them to shine and improve, and bring the best out of them.

The 90 minute rule was the big thing to happen to our academy since we normally cherry-picked from across the country. But we do have a lot of talent there that will mature in the next few years.

There are 3 reasons for this problems

The main one derives from Harrison's( the man behind Manutd's local talent from Whiteside to Brown) retirement. The ppl brought to replace him werent up to it and that was the main answer to our decline. This year SAF have sacked them all and PPL like Fininho and Choccy have taken command. They are able but it will take time to eat their fruits

2nd The intensive competition for the youngsters. Every club have now realised their worth and are doing their best to find the talent, groom them and sell them at explosive prices.

3rd The FA new regulations had resticted the clubs to find Local youngsters ONLY at their neighbourhood. This would have meant that Beckham would have never came to OT

Certainly an influence but Eric was there for another five years during which time we didn't produce anyone of note from the youth set up except Phil. Influence in training is of course important but there is no substitute for basic talent which the 92 side had in abundance. That's why so many have fallen by the wayside during this period because they weren't good enough to make it and let's face it you have to be exceptionally good to make it at United particularly

there is a whole 7 page thread on the forum about this!. Can you not talk about it there!.

It'll also give you lots of info abot youngsters coming through.
