With the second leg of the European cup on Tuesday it fills me with dread to think that if we should get a result and go through to the final, Roy Keane and Ruud van Nistelrooy are just one booking away from being suspended. In this day and age when you can get booked for looking at the referee the wrong way sureley UEFA and FIFA should think about having an amnesty on yellow cards causing suspension for their major finals. It's happened many times over the years that some of the worlds best players miss out on major finals through suspension. Obviousley red cards in semi finals should warrant a suspension still. Anybody have any thoughts on this?

I agree, I know the refs have to be seen to make sure the game is played properly but they're not really helping matters are they.
I mean can you imagine, it's 5 mins to go and MU need that one goal to go through, Keane whacks one in and goes mental - swinging his shirt around his head in a fit of joy. Out pops the ref with his little book and there you go - nice goal enjoy the view from the stands won't ya.

There needs to be a bit more definition for the issuing of cards. I understand that nasty tackles and the like are being eradicated (allegedly) but some of the cards given out are really poorly justified.

Yeah i thought about this before, the cards need to be scrapped in the semi 2nd leg

Not just cos of keane and others but if i was watching Real Madrid V Whoever, i wouldnt wanna see two reserve sides on the pitch

UEFA would not want that either. I think they are just hoping that the two fairest sides reach the final but there are often dodgy ref decisions that should be looked at independantly at these stages

Rules are rules. I wouldn't be complaining if we make the final next Tuesday then watch on Wednesday as Real have Raul, Zidane and Figo sent off as Barca get stuck into them. Would you?
