This guy was incredibly good today against Man City. He showed brilliant close control, pace, trickery and skill, but the best thing was the through balls he played into his teammates. I know he was rated massively as a youth - got signed to Bayern because of his talent, but never blossomed there. I'm very interested to see how he does this season, because he clearly still has the ability to be a top player. Could potentially be a good buy for any title challenging team, if he can replicate the ability he showed today.

He's been the only consistently threatening player in that Stoke team all season, not just this game. Bojan is coming back from injury and Arnautovic is too unpredictable.

No. He hasn't at all. He's been quite poor until the last few games actually.

He's been amongst their most consistently highly rated attackers since the start of the season. His problem is he tires quickly and rarely lasts a full 90.

Is it just me or does Sparky seem to beat City a bit too often since he got sacked by them?

Not necessarily the correct thread, but who has been Stoke's best attackers? Bojan and Arnautovic?. Has Afellay been any good?

Affelay has been pants.

My Stoke supporting mate says Arnoutavic and the other says either Arnie or Walters at the start.

What? He's been incredible mediocre so far til this point. Affelay too. Bojan has been alright and Arnie great (assist/scored 7 in last 7 games - so unpredictable).

Stocks biggest problem is central midfield, they have some quality attacking players but they just lack someone in the middle to link the defense with the attack. They actually could do with having N'zonzi back. Until they bring in a couple of midfielders Stokes attacking players are going to struggle to perform on a consistent basis.

Yeah, if they had kept NZonzi then that team would have been really strong. He was their best player for the last few seasons.

Jedinak would have been a good signing for them in the summer but quite short term with his age. There aren't a great deal of options for them unfortunately.

Shawcross is a big player for them. Think I heard some stat this morning that they haven't conceded when he's played this season or it might have been not conceded at home. Anyway, whatever it was, it's clear he's a big influence.

Shaqiri had had sporadic moments till yesterday based on what Ive seen. The pass to Glenn Johnson vs Chelsea was class though

Arnautovic, although he has games where he just sulks.

Bojan was brilliant before he got injured but isnt back to that level yet.

I think he's some way off being consistent enough to play for a top side again. As with all the Stoke forwards, we see flashes of brilliance followed by long periods of absolute dross.

No he hasn't, before yesterday's game many deemed him to be a flop and although he had showed some glimpses of his skills he had for the most part been disappointing.
I'd say his time at Stoke has been similar to that of Memphis for us they both came in with a big reputation but has so far failed to deliver, yesterday of course might have been a turning point for Shaqiri.

Don't start transfer forum threads about players unless you can provide a source talking about a move, other wise you're just discussing the player which isn't for this forum.
