well, it seems my live acount runs out on May 1st and as you know it costs £40 for 1 year (bastards) after looking in my wallet I have only found £50 which means I will have to wait for either GTA 4 or xbox live ...or I could be extra nice to my parents and hope they get me one...even if that is extremely unlikely..

anyway my question to you caftards is which one do i get? Xbox Live or GTA 4?

much love xx

GTA 4 will be rubbish without LIVE. If you have cod4 then get LIVE and the new maps. Failing that, almost everyone has a months free xbox live lying around. I can probably give you a code if I can find the
complimentary card they gave me when the repaired my RRoD.

Why did you get an xbox when you could have a ps3 right now is a better question.

You can get 13 months of live on eBay for £30

And they email you the code

Yeh I have one of those. If anyone wants it give me a PM.

yes, I do have cod4, and im sure I do still have that free 1month live...hmmm maybe it would be better getting live first. thanks for the reply my friend

another PS3 > XBOX 360 debate eh, well I was going to get the PS3 untill I found out it was £425 with no games or anything so I ended up getting the 360 with I think it was 5 games and an extra controller and live for the same price

True but i dont trust eBay for that sorta thing

Much cheaper and more varied selection of games?

Im not going to argue over it, I posted that as I hadn't realized you had to pay yearly subscription for online for XBOX and was thinking that was shit. Obviously both consoles have pros and cons so there's no real point arguing over it.

There's should never be an argument my friend, especially when it comes to entertainment! You asked an honest question, I gave an honest answer. That's what discussions are all about ;)

To answer the original question, get the game. XBLive is mostly full of morons anyway and at least in GTA you can kill them.

The developers said that the single player experience should be played all by your lonesome, and it is supposed to be the most rewarding part.

Yes but I bore of GTA's after about a week, simply die to the fact that they're all pretty much the same. I wouldn't even bother with it if it wasn't for the multiplayer looking shit hot

did he ask what console to get?

No, but as i said earlier i hadn't realized you had to pay to play online for xbox and was thinking that was shit, as it is free on ps3. Im not looking for a console argument.

No, it didn't mean that, and I'm not buying either.

If you have both an XB360 and a PS3 I'd wait for the reviews (I don't trust reviews as far as I can throw them) to see which one may or may not be the better version. On the other hand, if you want these other two episodes as well in the future (2009+), then the ones that Microsoft have paid for will only be available on the XB360, so get that version.

It doesn't suggest get the PS3 version, I think it suggests (rightly so) that live content and multiplayer isn't the be all and end all of what is essence still a single-player game.

Correct, this game I feel has been done correctly. They have concentrated on single player, and then added a multiplayer element to it, not the other way round, which many developers seem to do nowadays and is poor design IMO.

fecking multiplayer generation. How bad is it, when single-player designed games get marked down based on their multiplayer content!

Stupid. A lot of the problems today with games reviews is that the majority are now 100% online based. I'm quite sure that they purposely try sometimes to stir up fanboyism because it increases their number of page hits. We know certain websites have also let their integrity fall by the wayside because of demands from their online advertisers.

I remember reading reviews of Bioshock that smarked it down for having no mulitplayer. Ignore the storyline, the gameplay depth and the atmosphere, it's marked down because you can't haev some spotty flid screeching down the headset at you.

If anything, it should have been marked down for being dumbed down for the console market, not for having no multiplayer - but that's another discussion.

BTW Weaste, is this true (I've not played it yet): http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=186218

That would properly wind me up! I'm super-anal when it comes to lap times...

Yes, it is one of the bugs. The amount of downgrades through lack of multiplayer is quite a lot. It happend to Uncharted, it happened to Rachet & Clank, etc. Both two examples I've given are of games from highly respected studios. Bioshock is the highest rated XB360 game on metacritic though, 1UP gave it a 100 (I hate that, how can anything get a 100 - feckwits), EDGE Magazine gave it 80, But that's not unusual from EDGE, even though they gave Halo 3 a 100:

If only the mechanics matched the atmosphere. If only Rapture was a less linear world to move through. If only BioShock was the wholly brilliant experience you know, from your moments within it, it could have been.

Edge has been declining for years. Halo 3 a 100 though! The game was poor at best. Bioshock is probably only about an 80 for those reasons though, it's a good game, but System Shock2 is still vastly superior.

suprised me too!

well it didnt to be honest, I bought in 2 days after release, so it's lasted 3 years-ish.

Thing is, the CD drive broke,so i payed to get it fixed (out of warrantee), got it sent back. Day after i get it back, my power supply brick blew.

typical.

Xbox live ha sonly ever gone down once for me. And it wasn't exactly for very long
