Xbox Live Account problem

as most of you know, i've had an xbox before. Now i've bought a new one i want to get back online.

My gamertag at that time had quite a lot of achievements etc on it so i'd prefer to keep it.

Tried to recover my gamertag but couldn't remember the password. I then tried signing into my account using the email address that i had registered, but again couldn't remember my password.

Clicked "reset password" option and chose to send to my alternative email address but nothing has been received there (checked spam)

Basically im stuck in a circle and dont know how to get out of it..
 
I'm actually locked out of my account at the moment because I can't remember the password. So i'll appreciate it if you post how to get a resolution at some point GB
 
Seriously, if you want it sorted, phone microsoft. I forgot both my email and password, but they were able to sort it out.
 
Isn't it just your MSN ID? surely you have used your MSN ID recently and know the password.

Do you use msn/windows messenger?

Hotmail accounts get deleted after a month of inactivity (as I've learnt from previous experience myself).

If you've forgot your password on that then you're buggered.

Although saying that I'm sure my original Xbox was registered to my forgotten hotmail account and I can vaguely remember calling them and getting it transferred over to my new one.

I've got about 4000 unread emails in my hotmail and go on it about once a year, and mine hasn't been deleted?
 
This should work

You firstly need a transfer cable connect your old hard drive with the profile you want to the transfer cable then to a pc.

download a program called xport 360 which is here Knowledgebase - Codejunkies

open the program, select your device which will be your hardrive, click on partition 3 then content (profiles) this will then show a list of all your profiles on that hardrive on the right hand side, it should be random letters and numbers.

drag all of these onto the desktop

safely remove the hardrive and switch it with your new one

go to xport 360 , select your device,partition 3, content(profiles) and drag all those profiles on your desktop to that right hand side bit.

safely remove.

stick the drive into the xbox and voila your old one should be there

i dont think he has his old hard drive

and why would you go through the trouble of all that when you could just get a transfer cable and transfer it anyway
 
dont have my old hdd..

anyways.. i have to hold my hand up in embarrasment.. it was a classic case of PEBKAC

Either log in on xbox.com and click 'account settings' in the drop down box in the top right.

or

On the xbox - press the guide button, tab right to settings, account management, memberships

That's good then. Will save me messin with my router etc. I was playing FIFA and was beating some guy that was Barca with Wigan so I was not impressed when the connection dropped!
 
Are we still friends on Xbox Zain? Iirc we used to have some good games on FIFA.

If we aren't, cause its my brothers account and he keeps removing people he doesn't recognize or know, just add me back...but Im fairly sure I have seen you sign in
