XB360 thrashes PS3 in October US sales. Wii smashes everything.

Sony really need to cut the PS3 price to $299, because if they keep it at $399 they are going to get hammered in the market.

You're probably right. I just saw the commercial for NHL 2009 on the Wii last night. That one's going to help shift a lot of units.
 
Wii is a monster.

I own all of the consoles listed here, and honestly the wii is probably the least amount of fun of the lot. It was good for the first month or so, after that. . .
 
A lot of deluded people. We have next gen consoles with superior graphics and performance and people decide to buy a glorified console with last gen graphics.
 
ive had my Wii for about 18 months, ive probably played it for about 3 periods of time (about a week each time)

Design is king, somewhere down the line people started to think that graphics was more important

exactly. it's one of the reasons emulation/abandonware is so popular

It's why space invaders and tetris did so well - it weren't the graphics

in the current economic climate, not everyone can afford the gen of console and with the backlog of great last gen etc titles it's understandable

additionally - the xbox360 is a pirates heaven and cheaper.
- the wii is a pirates heaven though still overpriced (though it can afford to be)
- the ps2 is a pirates heaven and cheaper
- and most else has been emulated on pc/consoles etc

When the ps3 becomes cheaper and yes hacked BOOOM!

Until then nothing much will change, aside from me buying a ps3 :D

I know it's foreign technology but down the line we'll have to wait and see. I think they're working on it but it would take a very, very long time if it ever does happen

But even a price drop would make a big difference. I've had to be strong to ignore an open xbox 360 to stick to getting a ps3.

Obviously graphics isn't the be all and end all but the gameplay on Wii is no more exciting and with more longevity than anything else on the market. People just bought into the hype of the system having movement based controlling system on various games, however, once the novelty wore off, were left with just another last gen console with the ability to play a few classic games.

I mean, somehow, people thought that Wii Fit was a good idea. It's laziness to the next level.
 
I contributed to those Xbox figures for the month of October. I wanted a PS3, but when I could get an Arcade for £120, it's just not a contest when a PS3 is £330 over here
 
Fable II must have contributed as well, I know at least 2 mates who bought 360s for that game.
 
The PS3 is just too pricey for those on the fence customers. But the Wii again is going to smash the lot this Christmas, but eventually the supply of retards that buy that console will run out, right?
