If you read Graham Hunters book though he was very close to joining us in the early 00s. He wasn't used properly by Barca and was growing frustrated. Barca were open to selling him and we were his preferred club. In the end though he chose to fight it out for a place at the club of his dreams.
Imagine Xavi and Scholes in the same midfield. This was when Scholes was in his prime too.
