£84m rumours must be getting drummed up by his agents or PSG surely. Good player, wouldnt be my first choice but if we are considering anywhere near that fee would be madness
Seems way out the norm of INEOS targets and budget this summer for a player that is very exciting but I'm not quite sure where he would fit into our squad even with Sancho possibly out. Maybe on a loan ? But still the same positional problem and no guarantees he would be a starter which I would imagine is not what he seeks.£84m rumours must be getting drummed up by his agents or PSG surely. I mean, coveted elite talent ever since his teens, best youth player and best scorer of Eredivisie (tied) at 19, Bundesliga first XI of the Players Union there... It's not just a solid Euro. Please no Xavi Simons. He is not all that. Getting Poborsky vibes. Solid Euro but not elite level.
Why would PSG sell him then if he is so good?I mean, coveted elite talent ever since his teens, best youth player and best scorer of Eredivisie (tied) at 19, Bundesliga first XI of the Players Union there... It's not just a solid Euro.

Same reason Real sold Odegaard. Its very hard for young players to break into teams like this. Why would PSG sell him then if he is so good?
I’m convinced that on my lunch break around 2pm I saw Romano tweets and other sources via Instagram saying we were in for him, favourites, ETH big fan, 84 mil, wages agreed.
Come on the CAF and see no mention of this and very little discussion. Did I dream this in some sort of overworked haze and just a mental lapse from having to work with idiots all morning or did these things actually happen.
I did think splashing out 85 mil was a bit much mind but it’s been a few days since Yoro and I need more transfers to subdue Muppet fever. I’m turning green and fuzzy.
His career has been a constant build-up just like Mbappe. Where will he go next? He's contracted until June 2027 at PSG so he could possibly do one or two more loans and in 2025/2026 pick whether he want to extend at PSG or get his pick elsewhere.
You probably saw this
I’ve gone back and checked my feed and it wasn’t even anyone reputable. Damn Five quoting some sources in Germany.
If hes that good to warrant such freedom, why aren’t they playing himHe apparently has a particular deal with them, can basically demand loans when and where he wants. It's been covered earlier in the thread. It's not clear he plans on ever being a fixture at PSG. Besides it's football, everything has a price.
As I said, he's good enormous latitude in his contract to enforce his demands for loans. I don't know it's so much PSG doesn't want to play him (though with Messi/Mbappé/Neymar and even last season with Dembelé/RKM/Mbappé+Barcola he probably wouldn't have had as much minutes) that the fact he is obviously maxing his opportunity for growth by being a starter at PSV and RBL.If hes that good to warrant such freedom, why aren’t they playing him
The word going around (on top of facts) is that he's really not eager to play for PSG so they're probably will be looking to sell for good profit on the fee they paid for him as an academy trainee. Might depend on the market whatever summer this happens in but you'd think a 70-80m€ sort of player... Bayern will likely be in again.
I think he looks quite average personally even though he is young.
Wouldn't surprise me if he was on the same level or only marginally better than the likes of Gakpo or even Memphis Depay when they were being hyped up earlier on in their careers.
Just out of genuine curiosity, when have you watched him?
He’s already shown more than both Gakpo and Memphis did, considering the season he just had in the Bundesliga compared to those two in the Eredivisie. Even the one season he had in the Netherlands at 19 he put up numbers (19 goals in the league, 22 overall) that rival both of their best seasons there, in fact Gakpo never reached Xavi’s league tally despite being older and Memphis only beat that once, at 20. That’s without getting into him being technically superior to them both.
He's obviously a lot younger, but Gakpo is much better at this point in time I think. The only real comparison is ofcourse the national team so it's hard to say for sure, but I think Gakpo would be amazing in the Bundesliga.Just out of genuine curiosity, when have you watched him?

Wirtz is 3 times the playerI think he looks quite average personally even though he is young.

Without a doubt. But the issue is that it would take a minor miracle for INEOS to convince Wirtz to choose us over Bayern and possibly Madrid and Mancity. If we make make next year's champions league It would make it easier to convince him but even then, I jusy can't see how they can pull it. Xavi is a very good young player. Anytime I watch him I'm impressed by not just his technique but Also his work rate. I believe he could be a long term Bruno replacement for us.Wirtz is 3 times the player
Sure, but it also depends on our season and how we progress. If we do so, we have an outside chance as we did with Yoro.Without a doubt. Let's hope he doesn't read thisMy main objection - based purely on the euros - is he constantly looks like he's on the verge of crying.

It is, but we're not terrible either. Just extremely boring compared to what people are used to from us. And sort of hurt by some quality players like De Ligt, Koopmeiners and Simons just not finding their groove in the NT. Think that might change a bit with the rise of guys like Zirkzee, Gravenberch, the Timber brothers and Simons (if he steps up).
Haven’t been too impressed with him (he’s a good player but I don’t see the €70-80m player being touted). Alas, I’ve mainly only seen him for his NT & apparently he’s been way better at club level in the BL. I suppose many class players have had similar struggles for their NT and this isn’t exactly a vintage Dutch side. @KirkDuyt is that fair?
