16 players in the league now. Good stuff
Nope, just Clinton. So now I’m not sure if I have a duff team, or a well balanced one!Ok. I admit it I'm predictable enough that I've got two of them - Clinton and Shaw. I'm currently keeping Shaw in my starting lineup despite them playing Arsenal. But then FF tactical analysis isn't really my thing.
Anyone got more than two?
Just to say...
My only skin in the game is Bright, so hoping for a goalless draw! With the first match fast approaching, we have a league of 19. Let the fun and games begin.
Good luck to all.
Yeah, might take a couple of weeks to figure out the likely starters.Humph! Six of mine did not play (including subs) I will not panic though.
In the real WSL we are above Chelsea, City, Arsenal and Liverpool ... so all is good.
With matchday two over comes the pause for reflection.
Captain Clinton was again my key player - in fact this week, my three United players gave me half of my team points.
Which brings me to the big issue of the day - next Sunday's match with Chelsea has been postponed and that means I lose 5 players from my starting lineup. It's all very well to say that I'd have had to do something anyway due to the conflict of interest but...
And yes, I know the organisers were telling us all to diversify and be bold - start picking underappreciated talent from outside the big names. But still, let's just say none of my current benchwarmers will be bringing in Captain Clinton numbers anytime soon
I'm not sure, but won't the rearranged Chelsea game still count as GW3, whenever it is played?
It was a great ideaAnyway, enough of that. Whose stupid idea was it to set up a Caf WSL Fantasy League? I hate it already!
In my defence, I did declare a race to the bottom. I am winning. It doesn't sound like it:

It does mean that at some point us and Chelsea will play the game and that's when the players could be especially valuable as they'll have two games that week to win points in.
It was a great idea
At some point a combination of luck, misplaced loyalty, time constraints (aka real life) and forgetfulness will trip up managers and then all bets are off!
I completely forgot about our game being postponed. I did have 5 United/Chelsea players and after free transfers I now have 6. Great work, Demon!Deadline for this week's transfers and selections is 11:30 (UK) on Saturday 5th. This week's matches:
With Chelsea v United postponed I'm guessing some of us will need both free transfers and will still be hoping the subs bench delivers.
OK, I had three Arsenal players but 0-0 has made me happier for us than it made me sad for fantasy football! Arsenal a bit flat so far this season, which is nice!
Pleased for Palace, but after their start I imagine most of their team are the hidden gems or whatever they are calling the surprise unknowns!Good to hear it. I admit once City went two goals up, after 80 minutes, I did start hoping they would keep a clean sheet - but that was my only real slip from United fan first, FF manager second. I even resisted the temptation to hope for a Maanum goal
Your post took me back to why I gave up men's FF though, back in the Jurassic age. In my case it was that hoping a rival would get a clean sheet that made me quit. So that's obviously still my weakness.
Some remarkable results in the WSL this weekend. Crystal Palace probably spoiled a few FF teams today!
Sounds like you didn't let Chelsea and United dominate your team. Do you play in other FF leagues?I've totally forgetting I signed up for this but I'm pleasantly surprised to see my team sitting in the 5th spot.
I'm terrible at ones that require me to change my team every week (or twice a week in some cases). I'm involved in a manual cricket one right now that only needs quarterly updates and that seems like fun.Sounds like you didn't let Chelsea and United dominate your team. Do you play in other FF leagues?
I have taken a risk and taken out all my Chelsea players, hoping for a shock win for Arsenal here. It would help us out in the league too, so fingers crossed for a double result today.
