Last time we played Palace was when we were in the Championship. We hammered them - twice.

They were promoted to WSL's top division this season and so far they've had one win, two draws and six defeats. They're currently bottom of the League on 5 points and a GD of -17 after 9 games.

That said, they were level on points with Leicester this morning and we all know what Leicester did to Chelsea.

Match is live on YouTube in most countries including the UK.

Cricket score please! I have a soft spot for Palace and really want them to survive, but we need to close our goal difference deficit to Arsenal. Could be crucial come the end of the season.

I like that team, though I thought Bizet might have started.

We really do have a strong squad - any of the eight outfield subs could easily slot in (and Toone and Blundell still to come.)

I am expecting/hoping for a comfortable win.

Chance for Terland but she puts it over the bar. Well, we've got the ball but nothing much to show for it so far.

Goalless after 28 minutes.

It's not been an easy watch this. A lot of labour for zero fruit so far.

Breakthrough! Finally! Clinton knocks home the loose ball after a defensive mixup for Palace.

It wasn't pretty, but it counts the same. Kudos to Galton for forcing the error.

Clinton! The ball and Palace got stuck aimlessly on the edge of their penalty area for ages before finally it found its way to Grace. She made sure!

United lead 1-0 right on the stroke of halftime.

I don’t understand why a commentary sound lag seems to be a permanent part of WSL coverage. It was the same when it was on the FA Player. It’s fecking annoying

I think Sky are taking over the YouTube feeds next year. It'll be interesting to see if the changes are visible (and audible!)

Could do with another goal now. We're looking good on the move in flashes but it's not really translating into real action in the box.

It'll be particularly interesting if there are any games left free to watch...

Well. Thank F for that in the end. Christmas break to reset, but that was very poor indeed.

We've certainly made heavy going of it. After watching Chelsea drop points and City lose you'd think we'd be energised. But I guess the same goes for Palace who've seen their fellow strugglers do well.

Still, a win's a win and that was the number one priority.

I shall now banish that match from my memory.

Underwhelming. But, given the other results ...

Frankly, we were dull. Three shots on target against the weakest team in the WSL. Skinner's usual 60', 72' and 87' subs. It exasperates me.

FF - 60 points. I'll take that! #hustler ;)

I'm not generally a glass-half-full guy, but let's pause to take stock (putting aside everyone's FF issues). Going into the break, we are level with Arsenal on points and only one behind City. Our goal-differential is equal to City's and only two behind Arsenal's. Our 3 goals-against is best-in-league, compared to Arsenal's 5 and Chelsea's 6.

Any reasonable person who hadn't actually watched the games would surely wonder what we're all complaining about and why everyone wants to sack the manager. Of course, those of us who have watched the games have found the on-field product to be far less impressive than the numbers would indicate, and there is clearly much room for improvement, but....

Skinner is perfectly capable of getting us top 3, he's proven that. Could well do it again this year, which would be great.

I really don't believe he is capable of the next step though. Would happily be proven wrong mind!!

To be fair, I'm not sure Skinner can gets us to the "next step" without help from above, which doesn't seem forthcoming at this point.

This is a reasonable post. Personally I am just frustrated with the manager's predictability. True, the numbers look okay, but we could and should be better than okay.

My other gripes - the loss of top quality players over the last few years - are at club level, and Skinner has done/is doing well with the hand he has been left with.

Palace were dogged and scrappy and had lots of success winning the ball in general

Lexi Potter is 18, she wins the ball a lot. 5 tackles and 2 interceptions - Ugarte like. Has plenty to improve on with the ball and doesnt look very fast but shes one for the future and already does a good job as a ball winner

Point taken. I think sometimes we moan about how poorly our side is playing without giving enough credit to the opponent.
