Worst foul ever

I'm thinking ben thatcher on Mendes is still the worst i've seen as it was premeditated not reactionary and didn't even serve to give his side any advantage.

In fact i'm pretty sure Mendes still talks slightly out of the side of his mouth as a result of that assault.

That's pretty bad.

Doubt it's the worst foul ever. Schumacer's was worse. He came fecking close to killing Batiston.

Not only is that the worst foul ever, it's the worst refereeing decision ever. He gave a goal-kick.

fkme -that still rankles that

How on earth that did not end up with

1/a life threating injury is beyond belief

and

2/ as you say he gave a goal fking kick :wenger::wenger:

one of the most preposterous decisions ever seen on a football field

Regarding the Bosingwa incident, it needs being said referees are allowed to whistle unsporting behaviour, and what Benayoun does here is clearly such an act, although very widespread. for instance the Roma-Catania game a week ago ended up in comedy, with Julio Baptista getting like 3 corners, 2 fouls and 4 throws in a row for keeping the ball swiftly near the corner. Shouldn't this be a foul? You prevent the game from wearing on, after all.

I loved Keano as a player (not as a person even though I should not really say that having not meeting him in person) but even if it did NOT end Haaland`s career it was bot awful and deliberate

Re 1/ I think it did end up in a life-threatening injury. I'm fairly sure Battiston broke his neck. He definitely broke his jaw and lost a load of teeth.

That's really no more of a tackle than Zidane headbutting Materazzi.

Neil Simpson on Ian Durrant

Graeme Souness on some poor Romanian bloke - at 1m 53s

I remember that, one of my first football memories and even then at the tender age of six I knew that was wrong...especially when he didnt even get booked

A career ending foul, apparently. The perpetrator was Sandro Wieser, who plays for Aarau.
Gilles Yapi Yapo is 32 (plays for FC Zürich), his contract ends by the end of the season.

That tackle on Giggs by a Fulham player in 2006, disturbing stuff. Don't remember his name but he was the dirtiest player in the league at that time.

That gif of the Suarez one in his Ajax days where he jumps into an oppo player from behind and there rolls around in agony for no apparent reason is pretty bad. Don't think the other player was injured, miraculously.

Schumacher's is the one that first spring to mind as well.

Nevermind that the ref gave a goalkick. How the feck was he allowed to play the final?

Unbelievable, could have killed him.

Rustu Recber nearly did the same thing to Kieron Dyer a few years back. More out of reckless stupidty than anything though!
