Top 7 Movie Miscasts

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1492309/posts

7. Will Smith as James West in Wild, Wild West

I only lasted 20 minutes because of this royal screwup.

6. Mark Hammill as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars

Way too wimpy and annoying

5. Denise Richards as Christmas Jones in 007's The World is not Enough

Nuclear scientist? She ruined the movie

4. Colin Ferrell as Alexander in Alexander

Any military leader that looked like such a wuss would have been murdered by his generals in a nanosecond.

3. Ali McGraw as some chick in Love Story

As exciting as peeling paint

2. Brad Pitt as some dude in the Fight Club

About as believable being a toughie as I am being a ballerina

1. John Wayne as Ghengis Khan in The Conqueror

A cowboy Chinaman? Yikes. Though I did enjoy it for some reason.

**********************************************

I googled such a list just to point the John Wayne as Genghis Khan, lo and behold he was already topping that list :)

Personal favorites:
Keanu Reeves in Dracula
Jim Carey in 23
Elijah Wood in Green Street Hooligans

What are your favorite mis-castings?

I thought Mark Hamill was great. The way he developed and matured across the trilogy showed his transition much better than if he'd been a gritty, level-headed lad at the start.

I think he was way better than Hayden Christensen. But maybe nostalgia has something to do with it?

Not really. I think a better script and the lack of cg back then helped actors because they were interacting with their surroundings far more.

Leia or Padme is the real question though.

Mark Hammill was awesome and I must defend him because, he's very talented actor.

1. We can't forget that Luke Skywalker was a simple farmer boy with a hidden talent at the beginning and he suppose to be a little bit "not experienced with the world"...

2. Transformation of Luke from a simple boy to a Jedi was showed perfectly by Hammill in Return Of The Jedi... Very calm but brave, wise (had good training sessions with master Yoda), very confident and most of all - kicking ass in terms of using force and light sabre.

3. Mark Hammill >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Will Smith ;)

Al Pacino as womanizer and ass-kicker in "88 Minutes".

and

David Caruso as the tough guy in "Kiss of Death".

David Caruso is horrible... in EVERYTHING!

Tom Berenger is mis-cast in everything.

And dare I say it, Elijah Wood as Frodo!

Green Street is just a bad film, the whole of the casting is terrible.

Isnt the other main hooligan, american? or does he just do a shit cockney voice.

I've not actually seen GSG yet - was told that The Football Factory was miles better so watched that instead and avoided the disappointment of Frodo the Thug.

I'm i the only one who thinks Brad Pitt was decent in Fight Club?

i actually thought he was on par with Edward Norton in that flick.

He was rubbish as well in an utterly silly film.

Hmm, the film was littered with plot holes. But to say it was a mis-casting is another thing entirely. I don't think he failed the role, he was fairly convincing.

I agree, the car accident he was in helped him look a little rougher

Actually, I don't think Brad Pitt was that bad in Fight Club. It wasn't a very good film, but he was alright.

Milo Ventimiglia in Heroes was a terrible piece of casting.

that guy that played John Connor's buddy (or whoever he was supposed to be) in Terminator 3. feckin awful he was.
the girl was fine, Arnie was Arnie but that guy ruined it.

They forgot Ewan McGregor and Richard Gere in Moulin Rouge and Chicago respectively. Basically roles that required them to sing.

Also Renee Zellweger in anything that requires her to be attractive and Gwyneth Paltrow in anything that requires her to be funny.

And Uma Thurman in The Producers.

Michael Cain in Hurry Sundown his performance and Southern US accent was laughable

Laurence Olivier in The Betsy - he obviously needed the money

Julia Roberts in anything.

I'm completely at a loss when anyone thinks that she pretty (let alone beautiful).

Doc was too Dopey
Sleep was too Grumpy
Dopey was too Bashful
Sneezy was too Happy
Happy was too Sneezy
Bashful was too Sleepy
Grumpy was too knowledgable. (feckin Doc ruining my plans)

No way! I think he suits that role perfectly.
Kirsten Dunst in spiderman... shes ugly.
She only does one expression: drowsy
