The Keane incident has been blown out of all proportion by the English media who have been looking all summer for a target of their agression.
Fact is it was a bad tackle and spiteful. But I don't believe that Roy went out to permenantly injure the guy. He just lashed out. I remember Sparky booting a Shef United player in the balls from behind in a match. Terrible tackle (no pun intended), but if Sparky was to retell it now would he be the target to the same extent as Keane. Not a chance.
If Ruddock told of how he stopped Andy Cole with a professional foul by booting one of his legs which smashed off his other leg, breaking both. I still don't believe that there would be the same uproar.
Or Shearer on Lennon, or Owen on Johnson.
And incidently, Football365 is the freakiest 'football' website that I have ever come across. Never have I seen such blatent attempts to incite hatred and violence amongst rival fans/teams and sorry but I think it is bizarrely anti-United
