The worst ever.

Bob Woolmers murder, all matches played in near empty stadiums. Even for matches involving the WI, a full house has been a far cry. With India and Pakistan already packed and gone, with West Indies on the way out, there is a real danger of the emptiness increasing.

ICC needs a reality check with all the overkill of One day cricket. I happen to think short term gain equals the future demise of cricket.

Alright Sults.

Who killed Bob then? bookmakers? As for the overkill, we'll have more limited overs cricket, due to 20-20.

The small crowds have really ruined it for me too.

I think for the next one they'd be well advised to have:
a) 14 teams instead of 16
b) 2 groups of 7, with the top 4 in each one going through and results from the first phase carrying over so that each team only has to play 3 times in the second phase. Too many bloody matches.

Although the best thing would be if they did away with the pyjama rubbish altogether. I really hope 20/20 dies a quick death once the novelty is over.

We've had quite a few threads in your honour...

Have you heard Pakistan have given up on cricket to take up Bob slaying? :nervous:

Hehe, I gave some thought to posting that but decided against it.

evil.

You;d think they'd be able to pull in crowds for the world cup. Perhaps the tickets are too expensive?

On the pitch there have been some upsets which have added to the drama in the right manner. Considering the events on the field, its been a very good one Sults.

Woolmer was murdered by one of Sol Campbell, Andy Cole or Dwight Yorke

It's been rubbish, too many matches. Super eight will go on forever, why is there only one cnuting match per day? They could have shortened it by having two super eight matches a day.

Hah, to hell with all of ya. I'm loving the WC, its great to see a geniunely close competition where the small teams havent been utter crap like in previous years and several teams being geniune contenders.

I don't think India and Pakistan going out has contributed to the poorness of the world cup, the sides that beat them fully deserve their place in the super 8's. As mentioned, what's killed it is the woeful attendences entirely the fault of the ridiculous ICC policy to charge a weeks wages for games, the home team not really performing since the first game, and of course that at the end of the day, it's one day cricket. Or in other words, the shitter form of cricket

India and Pakistan going out has the made the World a shit place. And the World Cup even shitter.

Crap format. Super 8's last forever.

Small crowds have turned up mainly due to the ridiculous prices and far too may restrictions have been imposed upon them regarding getting their own refreshments and music.

I've remembered 2 other reasons the world cup has fallen flat too. The format is never ending nonsense. But also the weather, it seems to rain everywhere every sodding day. I assumed the Carribbean was either glorious sunshine, or monsoon rain. To discover that in fact it's Manchester wearing a sunhat displeases me

Personally regarding England, that we have a top order where even if they play to their very best, which they rarely ever do, they only achieve a run every other ball, it's just not good enough. Not like we don't have other players, like Mal Loye, who could inject a bit of life into the start of our innings

Anyway this World Cup has been a bit shit. Does anyone know how much do the tickets cost?

The fact that the TV coverage starts about midnight means i haven't bothered watching more than a handful of overs, and then if the game is actually taking place because of rain delays. Shit crowds, no atmosphere, footie season drawing to a climax, why bother with the cricket.

That would take at least 2 and a half months of continuous cricket and I'm sure the crowds would be fecking paltry...

Oh.

I see your point.
