Yes, it’s time for the world’s biggest sporting event of the year again.

Starts this Saturday. O’Sullivan has a toughie for an opener against Stephen Maguire.

Why do I get the impression that snooker is not the most popular sport ever?

FYI, I'm backing Higgins.

where do you get that impression from?

If ronnie is in the right frame of mind he'll walk it.

Id like Jimmiiiiieeeeeeeeee to win but there's not much chance of that happening.

Stephen Lee looked good against Drago. Hendry was up 3-1 and looks good.

'kin eurosport are sending this, BUT they are switching between snooker and fecking womens weight lifting from bulgaria or something :wenger:

White reckons he's going to win it this year, he had a shaky start but then he did have man flu.

Come on Jimmy 'true' White

White thinks he's going to win every year, even though he never has and probably nver will now. Though I wouldn't exactly be too upset if he does win it at last.

Ermmm, the fact that there're only 8 posts in this threads fora start. Agree about Jimmy, but it won't happen.

Matthew Stevens in the second round, could be a hard match.

Yeah, but Stevens hasn't been in the best of form this season. Fingers crossed for Jimmy!

After beating o'brien in first round.

Following his win, White said he believed he could finally end his quest for the world title this year.

"I wouldn't come here if I didn't think I could win it. I'd go and play bad golf in Spain instead," he said.

"Semi-finals are no good to me, finals are no good to me, I'm here to win it.

"If I can produce my practice-table form on the match table, then I'm as good as anyone."

Confident is good.

White is 12-4 down. He needs to win 9 straight to win... Don't think it's going to happen somehow... Shame. Would have been nice to see him win the title once in his life.

He'll be back next year! and the year after, they will have to carry him out in a box before he gives up.

Both Stevens and White played poorly through out most of the match, stevens just made more of his chances.

Osullivan out and might retire! fecking Ebdon won the game yesterday, watched it instead of pool and he was indeed very slow.

Ebdon now to meet Murphy I think. Offensive snooker vs defensive here.

Let's hope Murphy wins that match, for the sake of my sanity if nothing else.

Murphy was 150-1 at the start of the tournment!
