William Fish | Signs for Cardiff

Hope he doesn’t look like fish out of the water over there!

Will always remember him for that red card during a match in ETH’s first pre season, good times.

Best of luck lad!

WF:
“I’m delighted. It took a while to get it over the line, but now I’m here, I can’t wait to get going and embrace it.

"It’s a huge club. The direction that the Club want to go in, you’ve seen a lot of good signings in this window. Being a part of that is really exciting and I’m happy to be here. Hopefully, I can do my best for the team.

"I’ve spoken to people that have played here in the past and they only said good things. I’ve heard amazing things about the fans. I spoke to David Marshall, who was here and the fans love him. That just shows that if you do well, they’ll back you forever. I just can’t wait to step out on the pitch.

“Marshy has played the game for a long time. I dropped him a text and the first thing he said was what an amazing football club it is. Marshy, when you speak to him, you know that what he tells you is right, so I have full belief that I’m making the right decision.”

Cardiff manager Erol Bulut:
“He is a young defender, who has been at Manchester United for many years, so has had a good education from them.

"For the last two years he was in Hibernian, so we watched him and we were interested in him in January too.

“We hope that he will progress with us in a good way. He is still 21 years old, just starting his career and he is good on the ball, good in duels, so he will add to our playing style.

"Of course, he has to push to be in the team. He is not quite ready to play yet, so he will be with us after the international break and hopefully he can add positive things to our game.”

£1m rising to £3m, buy back and 30% sell on is a solid deal.

I'm not fussed about the low fees, it puts unnecessary pressure on them having to perform at their new club, which isn't fair. Hopefully he goes on to have a solid career.

Good luck to him. Hope he's got a move to the right plaice, and won't flounder

Promising player. I can see him having a Ryan Shawcross level of career if he gets some consistent playing time and a bit of luck with injuries.

Seems a sensible lad too. Good luck Billy the Fish

sell cardiff will fish and they’ll eat for a day, teach cardiff will fish and they’ll eat for a lifetime.

Slight shame as he'd done well on loan and then looked decent in his preseason minutes, but selling the likes of him and Kambwala help for the big fee for Yoro we obviously believe much more in, as well as the cheaper youth signings like Sekou Kone.

Best of luck to him, wouldnt be surprised to see him at a premier league team in a couple of years. But Cardiff themselves have started their championship season with 2 defeats, 0 wins and 0 draws so hopefully he'll find himself playing and helping his team rise up the table.

Best of luck to him. Never really felt that he was good enough to make it here but there is no reason he can’t have a good career elsewhere so it’s a decent move for him and am happy with the deal we got.
