4 points adrift at the bottom of the league the former dominant force in rugby league are seriously struggling this year, the possibility of relegation has led to rumours of the RFL 'doing a deal' which would mean an extra team would be added to the league rather than Wigan being relegated, others have suggested that Dave Whelan has been trying to negotiate with potential promoted team to pay them to refuse entry to Super League so that Wigan can stay up (something Whelan has denied and the RFL have said won't be tolerated).
Given the fact that Wigan have signed a couple of big name and expensive Aussie players for next season it seems they are confident of not being relegated, so do you think the RFL would allow them to be relegated?
What are the implications if a deal is done? Surely other clubs would demand the same treatment if threatened with relegation
