Will we ever stop throwing our managers under the bus?

If I own a manufacturing company, which still produces everything by hand when all my competitors use modern machinery and so my company is falling away into oblivion, do I find a CEO who can make my manual processes as efficient as possible? Or do I find a CEO who will revitalise the company from the ground to modernise and become competitive again?

All this criticism of ETH selecting a shit team today is fair, but not our fundamental issue.

A prime example of this is people saying “how can he play out of the back when he knows our players can’t do that?” So I go back to my analogy. Do we find a manager who doesn’t play out of the back, like every other top club, and keep our archaic style, for marginally better results today? Or do I find the manager who wants to modernise our style and contributes to the club modernising it’s approach to football as a whole?

I don’t know if ETH is the answer. But this isn’t about that. Because right now every manager would fail with the way we operate. We can only paper over cracks with this group of players. And we will never fix that issue with the overall way this club operates.

So to my question, when will this club realise we just can’t keep operating like this? Will we ever? If we don’t, we will be shit for as long as this operation continues in this way.
