Will Hughes

Could potentially surpass Steven Gerrard's PL titles record, if he makes the right moves.

18 months ago I would have bet on him going to a top 6 Premier League club. Seems to have stalled a bit in terms of development though. Hopefully he can kick on again and become the best player he can be. Would still get a game for 13 or 14 teams in the League at his current stage of development.

What I don't understand is how he could play for Derby and also be on 8 out of 10 cats does countdown at the same time

BBC have him set to Watford for £8m. Would be a potentially great deal for Silva, although I don't know how he's been after his knee injury.

He's 22 and it feels like people have been talking about how he'd do in the Premier League longer than Ibrahimovic!

I live near Derby and I've seen a fair bit of this kid, he's not the next Messi like a lot of people would have you believe. I think he will struggle to make the step up, there's nothing to him and I can just see him getting bullied and injured easily. He's the kind of player that would be the best player in any park game in the world but put him on a PL pitch and I think he will be out of his depth. I do however stand to be corrected!

I reckon he'll surprise you. As a Ram I'm dissapointed to see him go (though not surprised) and I do think he could do better than Watford. Jeff Hendrick was sold last season and he had a good season at Burnley. I think Hughes is a better player and once he finds his form he'll be a good premier league level midfielder, he could even be a regular for England. His development has stalled over the last two seasons due to injuries and our team being a bit rubbish, but if he wants to he can be a decent midfielder. He won't be the next Xavi, but he's not Jack Rodwell either.

Don't rate him and never got the fuss. I mean he was linked with all the top clubs only a few seasons ago. Cook has struggled making the step up to the PL and I really think Hughes is going to struggle to make any kind of impact.

I think he had a great game on YouTube 5 years ago or something that made a few people crazy about him. Haven't heard from him since.

Injuries, an ill-fated spell as holding mid after Thorne's injury and then not really having the same chemistry in midfield with the likes of Butterfield and Johnson that he enjoyed with Bryson in 2013/14 have set him back a bit.

Still only 22 though and around £8m is hardly a huge gamble.

Ridiculously cheap price, could of double that in this market. Especially with him still being young and English.

he's a good talent but if he really wants to progress to the top he really needs to make this move work.

If he stays healthy, he'll be in the World Cup squad next year.

The fact this actually has an element of truth to it shows the lack of central midfielders coming through England.... interested to see how he does in the Premier League I'l be surprised if he surpasses the level of Cleverly/Drinkwater.

He is definitely is better than both players. Hughes is better as a deep lying playmaker, which England lack at the moment.
