LARGE numbers of Bolton Wanderers fans will be putting their hostilities to one side to do something totally unheard of later on today – cheering Manchester United on to victory.
Die-hard Wanderers fans the world over would, perhaps, be ashamed to admit it but a victory for the Red Devils against Ipswich Town at Portman Road this afternoon will ensure that Bolton remain in the Premiership for an unprecedented second successive season, regardless of how they fare against Arsenal and West Ham.
Sam Allardyce hopes that the Old Trafford outfit can do him a favour but he admitted that it is possible United could falter under the pressure they face to keep in touch with fellow title contenders Arsenal.
Big Sam said: "Certainly we are hoping United, even with all the problems they've got, will go down and get the result we're looking for.
"They will want to keep the pressure on Arsenal and hopefully, come Saturday evening, we won't have to do it ourselves.
"But I've got a tendency to think that nothing comes easy in this game for me and it might not be the case.
