Quite simply because we have a team full of 'United players'.
The term 'United players' is banded about far too much at times. But to me, there are three sorts of 'United' players.
1) The type of players who would kill their own parents or hack their own sack off with a blunt razor blade. These players are die-hard United fans. The sorts who would be on the Stretford End every week if they were not on the pitch. They breath and live United. They are not neccessarily the greater of players, but their desire and love of the club make them better players when they pull on the famous red shirts. There are a few examples of these - the Nevilles, Nicky Butt are shining examples.
2) Players of outstanding natural ability. The sorts of players that playing the United way comes naturally. Becks, Giggs and Scholes are great examples. The sorts of players everyone wants to be or have. The sorts that when something special is needed, you turn to.
3) The hardest of the lot - the grand masters. We currently only have two IMHO. Roy Keane and Ruud Van Nistelrooy. These are the the players who are simply without many equals in the world. The sorts that were born to be Red. The sorts who can conduct the orcestra on the pitch and the army of fans watching in the terraces. They are the sorts that you would trust your own life with if you have to. Not many of these have existed in the history of United. Edwards, Best, Law, Charlton, Robson and Cantona are the other real examples.
