Its pretty clear he won't leave! If Fergie sold him, he would be conceding defeat to the media. He would be made to look like a fool, after he defended him soo much last season.
The only way Veron's gonna leave is if he does A "Stam"! <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

The real reason is he's playing so shit no-one would want him unless he was sold on the cheap and even then he wouldn't pass the medical.

i thought veron was going to have a great world cup and increase his transfer value so that you could make a profit on him?

not really going according to plan, is it?

;)

There is a long way to go in the WC yet and if Seba turns it on and leads Argentina to the title then there is no way that your conceding defeat to the media argument will hold up.

He's not playing well, true. But does anybody accept the theory that Veron is carrying injury? That would be a very simple explanation for the player's poor form. I think its that simple. :(

I've never accepted the idea that an injury can make your passing wayward. It can make you avoid tackling, not work hard, run slowly etc. but the criticism in argentina of him was his sloppiness in passing, and poor choice of passes.

Erm. Okay. But surely if a player is not 100% fit then his entire game suffers, including concentration and passing. I mean, if his head isn't right and he's worried about injury then he can't concentrate properly on his game. I agree, Veron's passing was terrible against England. But he has been carrying an injury and that may play a role.

We probably shouldn't discount the fact that Veron had a better game against Nigeria and perhaps the old head wasn't right against England because of the season he's had there.

Anyways, I'd better stop coming up with excuses. But I still say if Seba is carrying an injury it will impact on his whole game - mentally and phyiscally. Lets face facts, he's no Roy Keane!!!

An injury effects your balance whether you can play through the pain or not. You can run without balance, but you cant turn properly. When you kick the ball, your hurt leg will either fail to hold you up properly making you rush the pass or your hurt leg will not hit the ball properly. Even if you can take the pain, you dont have the same strength.

Dont judge injuries unless you've had one yourself. It pisses people off who have injuries.

it's strange that only veron made any comment at all about his injury. . .marcelo bielsa said that the half-time substitution was for football reasons, nothing to do with veron's fitness. . .

I'm sure the substition was for football reasons. Veron was playing shit! But thats usually what happens when you're injured and not 100%. You start to play badly. Who knows anyway. The man is an enigma!

i'm just not convinced, rory - the argies have enough quality in the squad that they don't need to start anyone who isn't 100% fit - aimar, gallardo and ortega could each have filled in in the 'hole' position. i genuinely don't believe that veron's head is right after a less-than-comfortable first season in england. . .

Yeah. He can't be the most confident player in the world after last year. But I think he is the type of talisman that Argentina always will look to and they'll play him even if he's not right. You have to say England are playing Beck's and he isn't 100%. At international level teams simply have to play their best players, unless you're Ireland that is

;)

There seems to be all this talk about him being injury prone but he seemed to have no problem being in shape to play for Argentina throughout the season.

Veron will be gone this Summer.
Utd will take less money than they paid just to get rid of him.

Good riddance

Great comment JOBT

I'm sorry, Veron had a really great season and next year is sure to be better.

Bet you have never played football in your life.

Dear bannedperson,

Enjoy this while it lasts.
Scousers who masquerade as United supporters don't usually get to stay very long.
