Why is the icon for Match Day a red and yellow card

I lurked here for a couple of years before joining and posting and one of the things I always wondered was why that icon and not something more like a goal, or a fan shouting or one person vs another.

I don't actually give a toss, but for some reason this is the completely pointless thing that has decided to not remove itself from my brain this morning.
