...tell me this isn't another one of sky's brilliant ideas.

we have to play Zalagethingy on Tuesday so we will get a extra day to prepare.

Having said that, I think this KO was sorted long before the CL was arranged.

Probably some reason behind it but Fecked if I actually know.

Yep, thats what I was told. :)

Is it on Sky? It wasn't mentioned in their week's line-up yesterday.

I'm not certain but I think friday fixtures will become a regular part of the season.

I'm sure I read somewhere that sky were planning on showing games on a Friday.

Hope it's not true, Sunday and monday are bad enough!!

The match was schedualed for live TV coverage. It couldn't be on Staurday Morning cause of the City - Newcastle game, Sunday because of The Carnival and we have Europe on Tuesday, so Friday was the only available time the game could be shown live.

the thing that gets me about playing chelsea this friday is that RVN & OGS are playing against eachother tonight in an international friendly.......

They are only playing for 45 mins though

BTW, Ruud and Ole can't do enough praising of each other in the Norwegian newspapers. If they're not careful, they'll get a Cmapbell rumour on them soon..

;)

Of course it gets ignored that the only way most fans will be able to go is by taking a day off work. What happened too putting the customer first?

If Sky can't shift a game to sunday, whatever the reason be it Europe or general policing issues, then it should be played at 3pm on a saturday. Morning kick offs and extra weeknight matches are just denying the fans the right to watch their team.

Its a fair point, but in football today money rules, Sky have paid an huge amount of money to show live games. Part of the deal is that they cannot show live games at 3pm on Saturday. Don't forget that without the Sky investment we probably wouldn't be able to afford players like Rio, Seba, and Van Nistlerooy

Is that actually true? The only difference Sky's money has made to the game is huge inflation to transfer fees and wages. We are getting messed around for TV so Beck's and co can live like kings.

Of course the long term knock on effect of this is todays footballers won't need to work after they retire; where are the next generation of appalling pundits going to come from?

in my country (australia), the national game Australian Rules play a game on friday night all the time, its both good for fans and players
