exactly. it wasnt a matter of ferguson keeping sheringham, more of sheringham staying, and he just didnt want to, case closed. getting him on a free for spurs was the best bit of business I have seen in england over the past ten years
The reason he left was because he was offered a three year contract at Spurs, United only offered a year. Can't blame him for going really, he got a decent contract for someone his age.
