Why can't pool win against the smaller teams?

Roll over and play (boringly) dead little scouse doggies. Good boy.

THE TOP 5 REASONS ARE:

5. The winning for the Gipper ( <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" /> ) has worn off.

4. Signing the donkey instead of Larry White as a striker.

3. Playing the donkey instead of Fowler. Then selling Fowler. <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> What was <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" /> thinking!

2. Playing with 6 defenders against crap sides is not the best approach to winning the PL.

1. They're not Man. United!

1) Poo' want to always counter-attack and rely on one-trick-pony's pace.
2) Smaller teams defend and refuse to be drawn out of their own half and only want to counter-attack too.
3) Poo' still want to counter-attack but have majority of possession and don't have a clue how to attack.
4) Err...that's about it.

:D

...because our midfield is shite, and thommo is tactically inept.

Just as how Thompson told their players before the match against us: Don't expect too much possession. They are get so used to GH and Thompson's all-out defensive tactic that they simply don't know what to do with the possession they got against smaller teams.

Small teams like Bolton, West Ham etc? The same teams that beat you at home? <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />

We didn't lose to either of them at home, what are you on about? <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />

Oh, well .. you´ll be going on about that in twenty years.

Michael Owen is a major doubt ahead of Wednesday's trip to Southampton after he picked up an ankle knock in the weekend cup win over Birmingham.
The striker, who hit two superb first-half goals to set up the 3-0 victory over Steve Bruce's side, was replaced by Emile Heskey for the final 13 minutes against The Blues but did not appear to be carrying any sort of injury.
However, it has emerged today that he is receiving intensive treatment on his ankle but the omens do not look good, and he is facing a race against time to be fit for Liverpool's first visit to the St Mary's Stadium.
If Owen does not recover in time, Heskey is likely to be recalled to partner Nicolas Anelka in attack for the game that could see The Reds move back to the top of the Premiership.
The news of Owen's injury is a big blow to Phil Thompson and Gerard Houllier, as the England striker combined very well after being paired with Anelka for the first time from the start on Saturday.
