Why are we so rubbish at one-day cricket?

They are so conservative and timid, lacking a sense of adventure and imagination in their batting. To be fair, the bowling was pretty decent.

England needs to change their obsession with Ashes.

you guys need to stop looking at one-dayers as a lesser, who-gives-a-feck form of cricket.
 
Well it most certainly is a lesser form....bores the feck out of me too.

England just have very very average players....they're back to the Hollioake Fairbrother Hick standards now.

It certainly is the lesser form of cricket, I don't think that's an issue...the question is why does somewhat decent players suddenly become shit. It's not the case with other major teams.

this forum is the only place where I've seen one day cricket spoken of as being incomparable in standard to test cricket.. also the first time I'm seeing someone say test cricket is more interesting(although I think DONADO might've been joking)

only the english think one day cricket sucks, that's becaus they suck at it. the rest of us know that test cricket is the real deal but it's alright to enjoy ODI's as well.

I don't think we hate it here. It's just that it's not really important in the general scheme of things. And yes, it's a bit boring and pointless as well. But I guess it's a good day out for people who aren't really into proper cricket.
 
Mehros right about England.

Test cricket is the true test of ones abilities and i prefer it, but one day cricket now has its own place and has the masses in favour of it especially in the sub continent which is the home of cricket. Personally i think its great fun and a skill in own.

Yes. . .you're allowed to like OD cricket. . .but it's only because you're crap at Test cricket.
 
We are good at test cricket when we want. Like beating Australia two series in a row and then drawing against them in Australia. Unlike England who get an opportunity to play them every little while and still get battered for more than a decade.
