Really?

Well, I don't think so, no.

He's not stated anything really. Ive read he wants to go to pool, then united, then arse, then united again. I dont think he knows what he wants yet.

Dont question his talent cos he really is amazing, but if you were asking about the fuss over whether he's coming or not, i answered above. No one knows what hell do yet imo. Also i cant see arse strapping together a 15 million quid bid for the guy to be honest, considering there having problems building a stadium at tthe mo. If he comes to england he's got the best chance of coming to us imo, but anything could happen. Could sign for city for all we know..

Don't know if it's about 'what he decides'. Who said all three would be in for him? Arsenal already have five strikers. They'll have to sell someone first and I see Wenger focusing on rebuilding his defence first...

Liverpool have three strikers (and Heskey), plus Mellor and two French kids who'll arrive in the summer.

So it's not at easy as to say Cisse is now going to choose from the entire world. Does anyone think that if United come for him he'll do a Kluivert and say Arsenal is the only club for him in England?

That's my instinct too. As far as Liverpool goes, I wonder if they'll have the funds even if they do want him. They've been knocked out of the CL and won't come close to re-couping that money from the UEFA Cup this year and they're also struggling to qualify for the CL next year.

I think Cisse's come out and said that he wants to play in England. In which case that could leave us in a great position to sign him...if we want him.

True. In his last interview (a questionnary with 50 short questions) he says Arsenal.. He also says that Beckham is the best-dressed footballer ;) ). But in others, he mentioned Liverpool or us.In fact, he wants to play in England, and given his standard, he would go only for one of those three clubs. I think the club that will make the best offer to Guy Roux will get him. So the United board don't have the right to let him go elsewhere...

Well I reckon we should send all French players home as a protest against the Nato veto. ;)

We might miss Silvestre and Fab (well, we would miss Silvestre and Fab), but would be very interesting. ;)

At least I had it in the first place.

kemo - how many French players do Arsenal have? And do you understand the phrase "tongue in cheek"?

If the boy wanna improve further his career, he must move to England or Spain. He want to play in PL. 3 clubs have money: MU, Arsenal, Newcastle. If Arsanal move for Ronaldinho we can move for Cisse. Arsenal must buy at the and of the season at least 1 keeper, 1 perhaps 2 defender. They have not enough money to buy Ronaldinho and Cisse at the same time.

Auxerre are facing an exodus of players this Summer, with Kapo, Boumsong and Fadiga expected to leave, aside from their biggest assests; Cisse and Mexes. In light of this the coach guy Roux is now quoted as saying he will leave if Cisse goes- so maybe he will because it sounds like Cisse wants to move up a level.

We are the best placed premiership team to sign him, as was said; we have that kind of money, and importantly we have the vacancy with just three strikers, and its the biggest club on the planet
But it does sound like Auxerre will be looking for every pennys on Cisse.

Knowing Guy Roux, no doubt about it !

i am not questioning his talent, it's just that i don't get the chance to see any french league action at all(who does?!). so my opinion abt cisse would be based on the world cup, which frankly speaking, he was quite shite. but then so were the whole french team. Well, if he really did come, then great, he might become a class player. If he didnt, it would be no big loss for me.

arse would become a mid table team.

I cant see Cisse going to the Arse, they really dont need him and neither do the Poo, even if the Poo did need him why would he choose them over us?

Yeah, but not for long surely ;)

Anyhow, if his system of choosing is based upon what language the manager speaks, then maybe he's not the right man after all.

How could I have forgotten French managers?

And I thought this was going to be a discussion about his talent and what has he REALLY done to prove the massive lauding that every one is giving him.

He plays in the second rate French league and doesn't seem to be exactly setting that on fire (I said on fire, don't quote some average goal scoring record that the likes of RVN would do blinfolded in that league). Yet he gets talked up to be the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Yes he is good but is his talent not being boosted by this myth that is going around these days that if some one is French they must be Platini's love child or something.

The French league is not as weak as the dutch league, which is all about 3 clubs. You get a new champion in France every season and several clubs are in the title race this season.

Cisse had a bit of a start-stop season, but his talent is huge. No one is going to get Ruud's goal stats in France. Well, maybe Stepahen Guivarc'h did, but we all know how he did at the higher levels

I highly doubt that he will go to Arsenal, but then again anything is possible... I've just read on another lesser web outfit that Tony Vidmar believes that Craig Moore of Rangers & Aust***ia is twice the player that Rio is both in terms of ability and in price...

Hmmmm...Craig Moore @ £60m ...... I think the so called "Amber Fluid" hasn't completely left the system of Mr Vidmar.

i think just because they speak the same language, it is more likely that hou would be able to "trick" cisse to join pool.

And how do you explain the success of Henry then ? Do you think he scored 50 goals a year when he played in France ? It's easier to score goals in the English league , with its wide spaces and opened defences, than in the French League. Anelka scores much more in England than he did in France, and Henry scores also even more in England than in France.

To say that RVN would score in France blindfolded is stupid. I wonder why so many English clubs take players from that "shit" league.

Exactly, we're not that bad. The French League is probably the 5th. Even if we haven't qualified for the second tour of the Champion's league, some French clubs have beaten big European clubs. Not so bad if you consider that most of our best players play abroad.

He was not that bad. You can't score more than 20 goals a year and being "shit". He couldn't score during the World Cup 98, but after all the same can be said of Henry and Trezeguet last year. The team was defensive and didn't create many chances for him. He also missed a few games after an injury.
Then he came to England but his manager wasn't the one who wanted him. Gullit didn't want him and, still affected by the critics after the World Cup, he never found his old level.

Guivarc'h was good at finding the net but that was about it really. Unfortunately for him, his showing in WC98 was horrible. It wouldn't have been so bad if he really didn't have any chances but he had enough. Certainly in the final when he just missed and missed.

Anyhow, I obviously wouldn't compare him to Cisse. The gap in sheer talent is big there.

He played his part in the defensive stuff and people undersestimate that . It's true that he missed two horrible chances but don't forget he was recovering from injury. It was more a question of mental, pression than a question of ability. 9 times out of ten he would have put the ball into the net.Cisse has surely a better potential and more charisma but Guivarch wasn't "shit".

I don't think he's shite. I don't think any player who plays at that level is.
