Speaking ahead of Wednesday night's Champions League clash at Anfield, Canizares said: "Anfield has a special atmosphere, not like anywhere else, it's a prestigious place and that motivates you."
"For a lot of us, Liverpool would still be the most famous Emglish team in Europe. Manchester United have come into fashion again but Liverpool are the team with the most European Cups."
In the 2000-2001 season, the Valencia squad took the Anfield Stadium tour while in the country for a Champions League game with Manchester United as they wanted to see the trophy room of 'England's greatest club'.
