For example, 4-4-2 formation:=

Barthez
O'Shea
Brown
Ferdinand
Silvestre
Beckham
Keane
Scholes
Giggs
Solskjaer
Ruud

Subs from: Veron, Carroll, Ricardo, Neville G, Neville P, Forlan, Blanc

Looks good now doesn't it?

Funny how our squad was being compared unfavourably to Liverpool's at the beginning of the season - but now a lot of their strong squad seem in reality to be quite weak.

I know things can change and players can suddenly come good/be off form, but at the moment, I think our squad looks stronger than theirs.

Too bad your comparison and the conclusion doesn't include Arsenal.

Because it's them we compete against.

We just beat them didn't we??

We might not win the title - but it's been in our own hands to go top. So of course we can compete.

The squad looks strong. Depth in keepers, excellent defenders with young talent in John O'Shea and Wes Brown has really gone from strength to strength since he came back away to West Ham.

The midfield is strong and you can include Nicky Butt to the bench when he gets back from his injury and is ready to play 1st team football.

Ruud, Ole and Diego. Another striker brought in, could really add that extra lift to the squad. Ole looked a bit tired today, and was just lacking that killer touch that we have just been accustomed/taken for granted by him. Must not help been put out on the wing for that period, and it looks as though it may have taken a bit of a toll on him.

Our squad is good, i don't think many would disagree but we are missing a flying winger. A player with a genuine turn of pace

Yes, I am of the opinion that Ole is due for some time off. Simple recharging of batteries, freshening up.

No squad can be perfect. Our squad is already very good. Though adding one more striker can help to increase our option and prevent for an injury crisis.

I'd like to see us with the Flying Irish Winger from Blackburn in the squad!

This is not a computer game. What we really need is only one more striker. We already have enough LW (Giggs, Fortune, Richardson) and LB (Micky, O'Shea, Phil).

Nicky Butt is back in a week.

Agree to a point. Left Back is covered especially given John O'Shea's performances their recently. But as for Left Wing, Giggs doesn't have the pace anymore and i've not seen anything from either Fortune or Richardson to suggest that they have genuine pace.
We are missing a player with genuine pace on the flank, Becks isn't the quickest on the right so a real flyer on the left would be nice.
We are also short of a striker. You only have to look at the goal difference of the Arse compared to us to see that we are not scoring enough.

Even better then.
