Who would you have from West Ham at OT

Since they look like going nationwide, and will have to sell some players. Any that could fit in at United?

Quite like the young RB Johnson(19) for the future, aggressive and good distributor of the ball. Has captained England at youth level.

Defoe would be a good addition, but not so sure about Cole, he can be really great for a period of time and then he is just invisible. In other words, not consistant. United needs consistancy. I don't think Di Canio either. For one, he is getting up there in age and two, he was great the first half of the season until he got injured and has not done alot since.

Definitely Glen Johnson, possibly Kanoute.

I rate Joe Cole but he wouldn't add much to what we've already got in midfield.

If we perservere with this Di Canio thing in the summer then we're mad.

I agree on Cole, a great talent to watch but doesn't really deliver enough for all his trickery, couldn't see him improving our midfield- and the money would be better spent elsewhere.

DiCanio was a good option but is now getting into too many injuries.

Defoe is very lively and would compliment RVN, if we don't get the big striker we want.

Defoe. But we'd have to get Larry to sit him down and explain to him the offside rule.

Carrick. Looks class, and we could groom him to be a replacement for Keane.

Not too keen on Joe Cole, i don't think anyone is really that sure what his role is, and i wouldnt want to fanny about with it.

Defoe is a good player who would add something new to the attack.

Sinclair would be fantastic cover for Giggs or Beckham

Those who campaign for Johnson - just how much of him have you seen? I've seen him play in about three games on the telly and admitted he's a good prospect, but saying he's ready to come to OT is mad imo.

Cole is, as mathiaslg once said, pure eye candy. Decent centre-midfielder, not so good on the left-wing, which is the one midfield position we need strengthening. I'd leave him.

Defoe on the other hand. I've questioned his experience, but having watched west ham a fair bit this season, I think he's matured. Not having di Canio and Kanoute around for long periods of time has seen him develop, and he'd be worth a gamble. Only at the right price though.

Carrick - <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> Do me a favour.

Sinclair's time has passed. He's getting on and I can't see him coming, even at a knock-down price.

Get calamity here!

;)

Cole, Defoe, Carrick.

Don't know about Glen Johnson. What about Rio's brother? He's just 17 and has made his debut. Have any of you see him play? Is he a good prospect or is he doomed to live in the shadow of his elder brother??

Maybe Cole but I'm not convinced. Maybe Defoe. But the way they've played this season they're a bunch of spineless tw@ts, I'm not sure any of them has the character to play for United.

I'd like to see their mascot make the move and along with Fred the Red we'll have twice the entertainment <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" /> <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />

Maybe Larry could do some talking to RVN too... He seems to get caught offside a lot of times.

I wouldn't want anybody from West Ham at the moment. Defoe is a good striker and young but I would prefer a bigger striker as both Diego and Ole are quite light-weight.

Bingo, someone with some sense.

If these players are any good, how come W. Ham are where they are at?

Own up time - twice on the telly, and that was one more viewing than it took to convince me that John O'Shea was class.

But then again you had probably followed O'Shea's progress closely from the youth teams hadn't you?

Lets not be hasty, they are far better that their position, everyone knows this. They have talented young players but IMO lack the backbone in central midfield of a tough old pro. In fairness Barca are better than their position too, it happens in many sports- getting in a rut, confidence disappears and even basic stuff becomes difficult.
We all agree that there isn't anyone at the hammers that could walk into the united team, but they have a few youngsters that would be worth taking a chance on if the price were good.

You can't use their current position as a way to measure how good they are. They finished 7th last season with much the same team. They've under-performed. They've lost confidence, if they had had a few lucky breaks, they'd easily be in mid-table imo. As a team they are losing it, but they have some decent players, make no mistake.

And IMO their defence is fatal. Their defence is just a little better than no defence at all.

Also, they have a foolish manager -- just why did he spend such money to get Lee Bowyer when in fact the midfield is already the strongest part of their team is a mistery to me. If I were him I would have sacked their two CB long ago.

The only one i would have from that bunch, and im surprised no-one has mentioned him is Trevor Sinclair.
quality player, can left, right or central, midfield or defence. works hard, scores goals.
would make a good addition to the squad.

Why would you want Joe Cole at united he isn't good enough all he does his flick the ball in the air and dance around the pitch like a fag. United need some playerswho can get physical and intimedate the oppostion like we did a few years ago.

But in the 5-0 drubbing we dished out he played really well, and ran a few circles around some of our players. He has talent without a doubt, why else would Fergie have been trying to buy/sign him for so long?!?!?

Only Jermaine Defoe. He's class, it's not his fault his defence is so shite. He's also banging Beckham's sister, so he and Becks could strike a good understanding, which means loads of goals.

Point taken, he would not start for United, but he looks a quality player for the future and we all know the way the prices rocket on english players once they get established, so conditions are favourable to buy such a player, if the price was right of course.

I must admit I've only seen him in two games, he has only recently come into the team, Roeder wanted to wait with him but injuries forced him into play. But he did catch my eye, looks to have some fire in him, a good hard tackler, but he's also skillful on the ball. He is not that muscular but he is only 18 so he has time to fill out.

i'd take sinclair, great cover for becks and bryan gibb. other than that though i dont know if id bother with any of this particular shower. ive been told i should rate carrick but as a long term replacement for keane? "do me a favour squire" no cole we have scholes. no defoe spend the money elsewhere, unless the hobbit is a bonus signing and not mr 2nd striker. david james is a piss-ant. i havent seen rio's brother. di canio should be farmed out to brescia or somesuch soon. i swear repke carries a knife tucked in his shorts.
would nigel winterburn become available do you know ? <img src="graemlins/angel.gif" border="0" alt="[Angel]" />
