Who was really the best in 2002??

Okay, so Beckham was the highest placed Prem player in the World poll.

Personally, I think he was pants in 2002. Keane, van Nistlerooy and Solksjaer all played better.

If I had to pick the top Prem player, it'd be Thierry Henry. What do other people think??
 
it wud have to be van nistelrooy for me. he'd just come back from injury and was the top scorer in the main competition, the champions league. he was the top goal scorer all together in england. and you could argue that when we were playing badly, he was the only one, apart from maybe keane, that performed consistently.
 
I could name a few. Beckham was really not the best PL player in 2002. But he wasn`t pants. So there´s no way I will take part at this poll.
 
Close call between Van Nistlerooy and Henry. Also i thought Riise had a great season for Livershite

Does anyone know if Michael Ballack was even considered for European Player of the Year 'cause i personally thought he was outstanding for Bayer last season.
 
I think he was. I vaguely remember hearing his name bening mentioned about but he was not in Madrid for the awards ceramony.
 
It'll have to be between RVN and Henry. Dudek was good too.

On a sidenote, I thought Ballack was excellent. Ronaldo, though playing well in the World Cup, hardly even played in the year. The award is a joke.
