I didn’t get it.

Diego & Ole were playing upfront, Becks was on the right and it seemed to me Seba, Paul and Keano were playing CM.

So was Mike the only person on the left? What formation was it then?

Scholes..
though it seems like silvestre is doubling up for both LB and LM..

Yes it was Scholes . . . and another very average performance as a result IMO. :(

Would it be better to leave him on the bench and have him come on to replace a central midfielder?

I can't believe it does his confidence any good out there . . .

Scholes was the LM .... for the first 15 minutes. Since then he has got back to CM himself... ;)

Agreed. Actually he didn’t play on the left during the second half.</strong><hr></blockquote>

Yes, Scholes just can't play as LM.

I was impressed with what I saw with Richardson yesterday. May be Fergie can consider to give him a try?

It was Scholes, he had a very ordinary game playing there as well, it was obvious he wasnt comfortable, if SAF wanted to rest Gigs he should have played Richardson!

what do u think he did when he brought him on?</strong><hr></blockquote>

He didn't do anything genius, but I like his composure and his calm on the ball.

Yes, it was Scholes, but not only him who had a ordinary game. It was a good day for Veron & Becks but not for the 2 others midfielders.

Richarson was given a chance, but he did not prove himself much.

Did you notice?
Today it was again.

We played (till Giggs is in) an unusual formation. There was 3 CMs but no LM. In fact Mike did all work on the left and Paul, Ole or Seba just helped him sometimes, while Becks played on the right as a classic RM.

I don’t believe it was Paul’s decision to go to the center. Apparently it was SAF’s new idea.

What do you think about playing with only Mike on the left, when Giggs is out? Does it work? We didn’t score playing this formation vs Sunderland but we did well tonight didn’t we?

i guess SAF cant bear to drop one out of keane, scholes or veron, so he fields all three.

The fact is Giggsy, bar a few games this season, has been below par, its thanx to JOS and Mickey that our team has had some balance, those two have got great engines on them, and Mickey pretty much dominated the left side for us today, shame he didnt score with that volley.

Also Richardson needs a few more games, and he looks bloody nippy as well at times (namely the 10-15mins as sub).

Giggs will be back soon, cos we'll need him for the CL, as I dont thionk we can win it without him on topform.

To be honest for most of the game, it looked like we were playing 262. In fact, at one point we played 172. Brown was class to stop an attack which was basically 3 vs 1 on the break! <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />
