Who took the captain's armband today when Gary went off ?

I didn't notice actually, good point, would have thought Giggzy - was it really Phil??

Whoever it was they obviously led by example.

wierd !!!!!

your team is way out of his shape , and you are talking about who was the cap. !!

A lot of people would think Rio should've been, but he had his worst game for us today, really surprised me when he got muscled off the ball by Anelka.

A 'Man Utd' lover who refers to his beloved team as 'your' team.

All we need.

Which goes to show how out of favour Giggsy is with the powers at OT - he was Vice Captain last season.

Yes, it was Phil. Giggsy has been the vice-captain for ages now, makes you wonder what the problem was?

I was curious, for reasons that would be obvious if you read the comments of others. I suggest you stay out of the thread if you feel it has no relevance.

Rumour in Red Issue earlier this season was that Giggs only gave #5000 from his testimonial proceeds to charity and that KJeane and Fergie were totally pissed off by this (particularly Keane who had bid more than this for a bunch of Giggs memorobillia at a charity auction)

That is pretty selfish, but I doubt SAF would hold it against him when choosing who was best suited to the role of VC, especially having stuck with Giggs so long.

I don't have any problem with Gary as VC. He is a long servant for us and he is talkative. But Phillip Nevlle ahead of Giggs? that's really quite wierd. And we all saw how Phillip led by example yesterday ;)

he would still play him - but making him captain is smg else. As we saw today Gigs will not wear the armband again - or at least until he makes it up to Fergie and Keane.

It was def P. Neville, i cant work out why though i was sure it was going to be handed to Giggsy.

you must be kidding.. so there is really problems going on inside United among the staff (managers, players alike)

shit.. this is serious matter!

i can't believe giggs was not given the armband.. haven't any analysts notice this and disucussed about it somewhere??

The only reason the NEVILLE'S was made captain is because they are FERGIE'S LOVE CHILDS .... Should be re-named PATHETIC BROTHER'S

are you the guy who mentions the love child thing all the time?

19 times at least.

I'd be interested to know what the source for this info about Giggsy was. Sounds pretty sus to me.

hang on a minute, Phizza was excellent yesterday and he has been every time he has played in midfield this season.

but its true! phizza has doen an excellent job in the defensive midfield role. seems to play the role better than when he's at full back. he certainly gave the ball less times away than Veron....

Gary is a long servant for us, yes I agree, maybe too long :( ,he is taklative, hmm more and less, but VC should be more than that. In my view Neville brothers ahead of Giggs, and (even Scholes ,why not)? <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[No No]" />

Did Veron complete a pass? ;)

I meant the yesterday bit. Although he was brilliant in comparison with his hapless sibling. I am not slagging them mindlessley but they were a tad poor yesterday.
