Who the **** is Basel?

Hi Man Utd-Fans! Your CL game in Basel doesn't seem to be a really hot topic here. Not interested in the CL, or just too much confident?

Anyone here that will come to Basel? If you have any questions about the stadium, how to get there or where to hang out before/after the match, feel free to visit the FCB-Forum. Most people can understand and write in English there.

We are nice Swiss guys of course, just during a game everybody gets a bit MAAAAAD

That's cos we just beat Newcastle 5-3, and we're still enjoying the moment. Come back tomorrow and we'll be talking about Basel.

We're not going to underestimate Basel I don't think. We haven't got to 6 quarterfinals in a row by underestimating opponents (scouse bastards take note). ;)

Oh yes, forgot about that, forgive my ignorance, I thought everybody speaks Swiss German :D .

Here's the complete procedure:

Go to www.fcbforum.ch. First step is to register. Click on the button on the top right of the page "registrieren".
Then a new page appears where you have to click on the link " Am oder vor dem 24-11-1989 " (it's about your age).
Then the usual terms and conditions blabla, just click on "Akzeptieren"
Then the registration page appears. Under "Benutzername" type your username. Under "Kennwort" and "Kennwort wiederholen" your password. Under "Email-Adresse" and "Email-Adresse wiederholen" your email adress. The rest you can leave as is, maybe indicate your location and under "Signatur" you can type in a text that will appear for every of your posts.
Finally click at the bottom of the page on "Registrieren".
You then get an instant email where you just have to click on the link in it. Then you can immediately start to post.
To post, go back to www.fcbforum.ch, click on FC Basel (you then see all the current threads). The button to open a new Thread is on the top right "Neues Thema". To post in an existing Thread, click on "Antworten" or if you want to include the message you want to answer, click on the "Zitat" button at the bottom right in the message.
Otherwise usage of the forum is pretty much the same as here.

Hope that helps.

Greetings from the Temple of Love

For us it's exactly the other way round. We just beat FC Thun 3:0 but everybody's talking about the CL. Natural, since it's our first time there. Ethusiasm is overwhelming, though a lot of people still haven't really realized emotionally, that we just kicked out FC-fecking-Liverpool .

I personally haven't got a clue what will happen on Tuesday, but your game against Newcastle was very impressive. Great performance by Scholes and Giggs! However, your defense seemed a bit weak to me, will be maybe an opportunity for our Argentinian strikers Rossi and Gimenez. Looks like a promising game with a lot of goals :p

Who is actually missing for the Basel game? Is Veron going to play? Beckham and Ferdinand won't be there, anybody else?

Uuu, nice to hear that, I start to become optimistic. Sounds like you're sending your fanion team to Basel. All the better for us, just the chicks here are disappointed about Beckham's absence :D

England ?

Did you pay reparations to the victims of colonialism ?

Israel ?

Did you pay reparations to the palestinians who were deported and live under constant occupation and humiliation ?

France ?

Did you pay reparations for the victims of colonialism ?

USA ?

Did you pay reparations to the indians for the slaughter you commited ? Did you pay reparations to the populations of Argentina, Chile,... for the support you gave to the dictators ?

etc...

So do your own part, we will do ours

Well, I guess this is some good sarcastic English humour, so I don't take it seriously ;)

Otherwise, see the answer of swissmonkey, nothing to add more

ORM

ORM was a bit over the top but to carry the windup on.....The English did all that on the world domination tour not hiding behind the guise of being neutral
;)

Don't worry, we did

Hmmm... OK then. So you would prefer me to shoot you in your head while admitting that I'm a bad guy than just stealing your money and pretending I'm neutral ;)

If I knew you were a bad guy I could defend myself and possibly shoot you while your robbing me.

There's nothing wrong with enjoying a fantastic footy weekend, but its time to turn our thoughts to avenging Poor Poo ;)

Squad: Carroll, Ricardo, Barthez, Roche, O'Shea, Silvestre, Richardson, Pugh, Scholes, Solskjaer, Forlan, Fortune, Giggs, van Nistelrooy, Veron, Brown, Chadwick, Davis, P Neville, Stewart, May

With no Blanc, Rio or Gary, I'd give Mickey his chance at CB

-------- Forlan, RVN ---------
Giggs, Scholes, Fortune, Ole
Phil, --Micky, Brown, -- OShea
------------ Fab -------------

4-4-2

Yeahh, defend yourself if you're a small, half-nacked Indian guy and I'm the British navy shooting with 3m canons from my ship

Well, after all it's a football forum.

When you going to give the gold back then?

Bankers to the Marcos family as well.

Give that robbed money back to the Phillipines as well you robbing bastards.

Bunch of dippers in disguise.

Cuckoo clocks are all you good for.

Well, heard of him, some Dutch player constantly on dope. The stronger grass from our Alps will set him back enough to sleep during most of the game :D

Yes, it was all Sublimus. Let's hold him responsible for stuff that happened over 55 years ago.

FFS, he only wants to talk about probably the biggest match in his club's history, rather than be bombarded with abuse judging by what nationality he is. Get a fecking grip man.

Laurent Blanc is out of our game against Basel, but Phil Neville returns. David May is here, but he's been injured lately and he's not trained. He's here as a safeguard in case anything goes wrong.

John O'Shea and Wes Brown have great ability, but no real experience. We can rely on their ability. Wes Brown has been out injured a lot, but his
performances this season have been fantastic. We're without Rio and Gary, but that gives our youngsters a great chance.

Basel are a good team, they will attack us. We've seen them in action against Valencia, Liverpool and Celtic. They attacked then and did very well. Their results make you conclude that they are not a team to be underestimated. We recognise the standard of Basel is very high.

Our goalscoring away from home has been good, Basel will know that. The team make chances, and if the chances fall to Ruud we'll be OK. You'll not find a better finisher in Europe.

You have periods of the game where you don't have the ball, so when you do have it you don't want to give it away as it's difficult to get it back. There are sudden changes of pace in games, our experiences helps us deal with that.

I'd be happy with a win. It's the nature of United to go out and try to win. But we recognise Basel's quality. We'll still approach the game with an attacking element, that's won't change.

We've been doing our best in the circumstances in the Premiership. I think in the last twenty games we've only had two bad ones. We scored five goals against Newcastle, that tells you we were attacking, which we've not been doing
recently. That should fill us with confidence.

It won't be easy for us, but it won't be easy for Basel either. We're here to do our best.

Thanks for your support

Sir Alex Ferguson
