He looked pretty fast to me today, outpacing 3-4 defenders time after time, flying swiftly through the midfield and defense like the Giggs of old? He really did it consistently in this match, beating players, hitting the post after doing a mazy dribble a la his goal against Arsenal (such a shame it didn't go in), he was awesome. Haven't seen him play like this since a very very long time... and Veron? AMAZING, dictated the midfield, sprayed passes left and right, the architect of every attack, skills combined with hard work... he intercepted so many balls, stopped so many attacks and he tackles more than ever! He actually looks like a PL player now... AMAZING. That's TWO in a row now. I really see this determinating and grit on his face and in his play that lacked last year, maybe a bit early but Veron seems to be willing to adapt his game... he's become tougher. All in all a great performance by the team, but especially by these two often criticized players. Keep it up.

hmmm.. i feel that maybe SAF is telling giggs to save his mazy dribbles for european games. The european referees dun tolerate physical plays and will gives lotsa free kicks for any minor infringments. thus, opposition players will not dare to bring giggs down while he is in full flow, for fear or a caution and giving away free kicks in dangerous positions.

whereas, in premiership, giggs is more likely to be hacked down while running with the ball, and no free kicks are given most of the time, since premiership referees are more used to the physical english game. Maybe thats why you see giggs pass the ball when you are screaming at him to skin the fullback.
